Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Heading to injured list
Rendon is being placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with right wrist inflammation, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Rendon was withheld from Friday's lineup due to the injury, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. The 31-year-old has apparently played through the injury throughout most of the season, but he'll now miss some time after it flared up while he was taking a swing Thursday. It's unclear exactly how long Rendon is expected to be out, though he'll be eligible to be activated June 6.

Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Working in center field
Lewis is starting in center field for Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Minnesota initially indicated Lewis would remain at shortstop after being demoted to St. Paul on May 18, but he's now also seen action at third base, left field and center field. The 22-year-old hit .308/.325/.564 with two home runs, four doubles and five RBI across his first 11 big-league games, but he was sent back to Triple-A once Carlos Correa returned from the injured list. Lewis is gearing up to rejoin the Twins in a utility role at some point, though it's unclear when exactly that may happen.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Transferred to 10-day IL
Donaldson (illness) was transferred to the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Friday, retroactive to May 24.
Donaldson spent the last few days on the COVID-19 IL, but he continued to test negative for the virus despite exhibiting flu-like symptoms. However, he's also dealing with a shoulder injury that will force him to miss at least another week. Once the 36-year-old is deemed healthy enough to return, it's possible he'll be forced to miss at least one matchup since he's been issued a one-game suspension due to inappropriate comments he made to Tim Anderson last weekend. However, Donaldson is appealing the suspension. DJ LeMahieu (wrist) has missed the last four games, so Marwin Gonzalez has served as the starting third baseman recently.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Still not starting
LeMahieu (wrist) isn't starting Friday against Tampa Bay.
LeMahieu will be out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive game as he continues to deal with left wrist discomfort. However, he took swings in the cage and will be available off the bench if needed, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. Even if he doesn't appear in Friday's matchup, LeMahieu expects to return to the lineup Saturday. Gleyber Torres will start at second base while Marwin Gonzalez takes over at the hot corner Friday.

Tigers' Ryan Kreidler: Reinstated from injured list
Kreidler (hand) was reinstated from the 7-day minor-league injured list Friday.
Kreidler has been sidelined since late April due to a fractured right hand that required surgery. However, he'll be back in action at Triple-A Toledo after missing just over a month. Prior to his absence, he slashed .246/.346/.462 with four homers, 12 RBI, six runs and four stolen bases over 18 games.

Moncada isn't starting Thursday against the Red Sox due to leg soreness, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Manager Tony La Russa didn't sound too concerned about the severity of Moncada's injury but said that the team wanted to give the third baseman an extra day of rest prior to Friday's scheduled day off. Moncada should be considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's series opener against the Cubs.
