Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Added to Friday's lineup

Nevin was added to the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

Nevin was initially slated to get a day off Friday. However, he'll start at the hot corner and bat eighth after Ramon Urias (undisclosed) was a late scratch.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Late scratch Friday

Urias was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals for an undisclosed reason, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

The Orioles haven't yet provided a reason for removing Urias from the lineup minutes before the start of the game. Tyler Nevin will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Activated, starting Friday

Rendon (wrist) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting Friday against the Mets, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rendon resumed hitting in a cage while also taking groundballs recently, and he's been cleared to start at third base during Friday's series opener against the Mets. The 32-year-old was sidelined since May 27 but will reclaim his job as the Angels' everyday third baseman now that he's been activated. Over 41 games prior to his absence, he slashed .242/.335/.403 with five homers, 23 RBI, 15 runs and two stolen bases.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Suffers torn ACL, out for season

Lewis has been diagnosed with a partially torn right ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Lewis also sustained a torn right ACL in February of 2021, and he carries a return timetable of approximately 12 months after sustaining the same injury last week. It's a devastating blow for the 23-year-old, who made his major-league debut in May and slashed .300/.317/.550 with two homers, five runs and five RBI over 12 games with the Twins. It seems unlikely that Lewis will be able to handle much work during spring training in 2023, but he'll attempt to return to the field by next summer.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Nabs first steal

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base Thursday in a 10-7 win against the Twins.

Donaldson knocked in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, and he collected a pair of hits in the offense-heavy affair. In the seventh, the veteran singled and stole second base for his first theft since the 2019 season. Donaldson has followed a six-game hitless streak with a modest four-game hitting streak, and he is batting .313 (5-for-16) over the latter stretch.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Good to go

Burger (leg) will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter Friday against the Rangers.

Burger exited late in Thursday's game against the Dodgers due to an apparent leg injury, but whatever was ailing him evidently wasn't particularly serious. He's been in great form recently, going 8-for-16 with three homers across his last five games, so it's great news for the White Sox that he won't miss any time.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Smacks solo shot

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Athletics.

Ramirez and Josh Naylor went back-to-back in the fourth inning to tie the game at 2-2. With seven homers and a .754 slugging percentage in his last 18 games, Ramirez has turned up the power over the last few weeks. The third baseman has 15 long balls, 55 RBI, 35 runs scored and nine stolen bases while maintaining a .284/.388/.619 slash line through 53 contests.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Knocks solo shot Thursday

LeMahieu went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday in a 10-7 victory versus Minnesota.

There were nine total homers hit between the two teams in the contest, and LeMahieu got in on the action with a solo shot to center in the fifth inning. The long ball was his second in June and fifth overall this season. LeMahieu is batting .308 (8-for-26) with seven RBI and six runs in seven games this month.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Hitting in cage

Rendon (wrist) has been able to hit in a batting cage in addition to taking groundballs, Trent Rush of Angels Radio reports.

Rendon continues to take steps toward a return, though a definite timeline for his activation remains uncertain. He went on the 10-day IL with right wrist inflammation May 27 and has already exceeded the minimum required stay. Matt Duffy and Tyler Wade have logged the most time at third base while Rendon has been out.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Exits with apparent injury

Burger was removed from Thursday's game against the Dodgers prior to the ninth inning due to an apparent leg injury, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Burger appeared to be uncomfortable after fielding a grounder in the top of the sixth inning, and he seemed to be shaking out his leg while running the bases in the bottom of the eighth. The exact nature and severity of his injury aren't yet clear, but he was replaced defensively by Yoan Moncada in the top of the ninth inning. Burger was productive before leaving the game, as he went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, three runs, a walk and a strikeout.
