Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Doubles in three-RBI night
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in an 11-1 victory over the Mariners on Friday.
With Robbie Ray on the mound in the third inning, Bregman ripped a double deep to the gap in left-center to plate Yuli Gurriel from second as well as Yordan Alvarez, who made an excellent read and scored from first. Bregman followed up his timely hitting with an RBI single in the fourth. The 28-year-old third baseman has hit safely in three straight games and is slashing a respectable .244/.352/.425 on the season.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Launches homer on rehab
Jung (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for the Rangers' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Friday.
Jung made his second rehab appearance -- both have come as a designated hitter -- and has hits in both games. He's expected to serve a week to 10 days in the ACL and eventually join Triple-A Round Rock, where he finished in 2021. Jung is limited to DH duty for now, but Levi Weaver of The Athletic reported the third baseman might play the field this season, something originally thought to be out of the question.

Rivera was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.
Rivera saw an uptick in playing time recently, starting four of the last five games while going 4-for-16 with two runs, an RBI and six strikeouts during that time. However, he'll head to the minors after Salvador Perez (thumb) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Knocks in three of team's four runs
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and three total RBI in Thursday's 4-2 victory versus the Mariners.
Bregman put the Astros on the board in the first inning with a two-run shot to left field, and he broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth with an RBI double. For good measure, the third baseman scored the final run of the contest when he crossed the plate following a wild pitch. Bregman came into Thursday scuffling over his past five games, going 3-for-21 with no RBI during that span. His three-RBI game was his first since he knocked in three runs against the Yankees on June 23.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Swats solo homer
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Red Sox.
Ramirez produced the first run of the game with his solo shot to right field in the fourth inning, but Cleveland wasn't able to muster much additional offense. The long ball was the 20th of the season for the All-Star third baseman, and he has now reached that mark in five of his past six campaigns, with the exception being the shortened 2020 season. Ramirez is on pace for the fourth 20/20 campaign of his career.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Homers twice in win
Chapman went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Thursday's 5-3 win against the Tigers.
Chapman gave Toronto its first lead with a two-run shot to left field in the fourth inning, and he tacked on a solo shot in the sixth. The third baseman extended his hitting streak to seven games with the pair of long balls, and he's hitting a robust .520 (13-for-25) with three homers, nine RBI and nine runs over that stretch. Chapman is still batting just .245 on the season, but he's posted a .320 mark through 22 games in July.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Angels' Matt Duffy: Shifts to 60-day injured list
Duffy (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Duffy appeared to be closing in on a return, as he began baseball activities Friday. However, he now won't be eligible to return until at least late August. David Fletcher was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Takes part in field work
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Devers (hamstring) is on pace to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
After being deactivated last weekend due to right hamstring inflammation, Devers was cleared to take swings in the batting cage a few days later. Perhaps more significantly, Cora relayed that Devers fielded grounders Thursday, which suggests the hamstring issue doesn't hamper him when he plays third base. So long as Devers can run the bases without any discomfort in the next few days, he looks as though he'll be ready to check back into Boston's lineup Tuesday.
