Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Sits out Monday
Candelario is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
After a 9-for-24 stretch to end the month of August, he has yet to record a hit in September. Candelario has now been on the bench for two of the last four games. In his place, Ryan Kreidler will take over at third base and bat eighth.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Angels' Matt Duffy: Starting at first Monday
Duffy will start the game at first base and bat sixth in the order Monday against Detroit, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Duffy has recorded a .517 OPS since returning from the 60-day injured list Aug. 29, though he is currently on a three-game hitting streak. Mike Ford will ride the bench Monday in favor of Duffy.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Will play in next two
Moncada (hamstring) will play Tuesday and Wednesday in Seattle, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
After being activated off the 10-day injured list earlier Monday, Moncada wasn't listed in the lineup for the series opener. Acting manager Miguel Cairo confirmed Moncada will be back in action for the next two games, however, signaling that he'll step back in as Chicago's everyday third baseman. Moncada is currently slashing .197/.269/.313 on the season, with his .582 OPS being his lowest mark since he joined the White Sox in 2017.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Not starting Monday
Suarez isn't in the lineup Monday against the White Sox.
Suarez recorded hits in five of the last six games and hit .296 with a homer, a double, four RBI and three runs over that stretch. Jake Lamb will take his place at the hot corner and bat ninth Monday.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Activated by Chicago
Moncada (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday. He won't start in the White Sox's series opener with the Mariners but is available off the bench, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Moncada sustained a left hamstring strain in late August but will rejoin the active roster following a minimal IL stint. The 27-year-old hit .184 with two home runs, a triple, a double, 13 RBI and six runs over 24 games in August and should reclaim his job as the primary third baseman for the White Sox now that he's fully healthy.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Drops in order with Springer back
Chapman will serve as the Blue Jays' designated hitter and No. 6 batter in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Orioles.
While George Springer received the day off in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Pirates, Chapman made his third start of the season out of the leadoff spot, going 1-for-5 at the dish. Springer is back in the lineup for the first game of Monday's twin bill, so Chapman predictably moved back down in the order, and he'll likely find himself in the sixth or seventh spot in most games moving forward while all of Toronto's key pieces are at full health. Since the beginning of August, Chapman is hitting just .198 with four home runs, 15 runs, seven RBI and one stolen base in 30 games.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Sitting out series opener
Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Peraza started two games in the middle infield to close out of the Yankees' weekend series with the Rays, but he was unable to spark the offense, going 0-for-6 with two strikeouts between those contests. Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Gleyber Torres will pick up starts at shortstop and second base, respectively, while Peraza retreats to the bench Monday.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Gets Monday off
LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
LeMahieu will be getting a breather on Labor Day after a dismal stretch of nine consecutive starts during which he went 2-for-34 at the plate, dropping his season average to .262. With both Anthony Rizzo (back) and LeMahieu out of the lineup, the Yankees will turn to Marwin Gonzalez and Gleyber Torres to play first and second base, respectively, in the series opener.
-
Jose Miranda 3B | MIN
Twins' Jose Miranda: Two hits, two RBI
Miranda went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the White Sox.
Miranda tallied two hits Sunday, including a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to increase Minnesota's lead to four. The multi-hit effort was his second in his last three games, a welcome sight as he is hitting .218 over his last 15 games with only three extra-base hits, all doubles. He will look to regain his power stroke that he showed in July, when he slugged .603.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Mariners' Abraham Toro: Sticks in bench role
Toro remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Toro had started in all three games of the Mariners' recent series with the Tigers, but he has yet to appear in the first two contests in Cleveland and will remain on the bench for the series finale. With Adam Frazier settling back into an everyday role at second base now that Seattle is at full strength in the outfield, Toro is expected to see light usage as a utility man moving forward.
