Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Unlikely to need rehab games
Manager Phil Nevin said Thursday that Rendon (groin) is not expected to need a rehab assignment before returning, MLB.com reports.
Rendon has not yet taken batting practice on the field yet, but he went through agility drills Wednesday and has also done some swinging indoors. He's eligible for activation Friday and while he's not expected back on that day, it sounds like it shouldn't be long after that.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Posts another multi-hit game
Garcia went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and a stolen base Wednesday in a loss to the Tigers.
Garcia reached base three times in the contest, adding a hit-by-pitch to his pair of base knocks. The rookie finished with his second straight multi-hit contest and his sixth such performance through 19 games this season. Garcia has provided steady production since being called up in early May, slashing .279/.346/.368 with six doubles, nine RBI, six runs and four stolen bases over 78 plate appearances.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Exits game Wednesday
Suarez left Wednesday's contest against Oakland after getting hit by a foul ball, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The Mariners failed to provide details on what exactly is bothering Suarez and how severe his injury is, but it was apparently enough for him to be pulled Wednesday. He should be considered day-to-day until more information is released.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Goes through agility drills
Rendon (groin) went through agility drills on the field pregame Wednesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Rendon has also being doing some baseball activities indoors as he works his way back from a left groin strain. The veteran third baseman is eligible for activation from the injured list but seems likely to require a rehab assignment before returning. It's unclear when that might happen, although it does seem he's trending in the right direction.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Retreats to bench Wednesday
Maton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Maton will exit the lineup to clear a spot at designated hitter for Andy Ibanez, who re-enters the starting nine after a two-game break. Ibanez appeared to supplant Maton as a regular in the Detroit starting nine last week, but Ibanez may be back on the outs for a regular role after going 1-for-31 over his past nine games. Maton, meanwhile, started in each of Detroit's last three contests and went 3-for-8 with a solo home run and three walks.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Rehab assignment on tap
Donaldson (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said it's possible Donaldson will be ready to return early next week for the team's series in Seattle, but the team is more likely leaning toward activating the veteran third baseman from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series versus the Dodgers that begins June 2. Donaldson has been sidelined since early April with a right hamstring strain. He encountered a couple setbacks along the way, first when he had to be pulled off an initial rehab assignment when the hamstring flared up and more recently when he sliced his thumb in a mishap at home. Donaldson is expected to be an everyday player when he rejoins the Yankees.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Royals' Matt Duffy: Gets leadoff look Wednesday
Duffy is starting at second base and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Tigers.
Duffy carries a .328/.364/.426 slash line through 66 plate appearances this season and will be rewarded with his first look at the very top of the Royals' batting order. He's still not playing regularly, but he's making his rare opportunities matter and might be able to steal more starts from the slumping Michael Massey.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting day off Wednesday
Henderson is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The lefty-hitting Henderson will take a seat with the Yankees throwing left-hander Nestor Cortes. Henderson has gone just 4-for-31 with zero extra-base hits versus lefties this season. Joey Ortiz will play third base in his stead.

Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL
White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Starts up rehab assignment
Ramos (groin) began a rehab assignment at Single-A Kannapolis on Tuesday and went 1-for-5 with two runs while playing nine innings at third base.
The appearance with the Single-A club marked the season debut for Ramos, who has resided on Double-A Birmingham's 7-day injured list since early April due to a groin issue. Ramos will likely play a handful of games with Augusta before reporting to Birmingham, where he finished the 2022 campaign. Between stops at Birmingham and High-A Winston-Salem last season, the 21-year-old slashed .266/.338/.455 with 22 home runs across 518 plate appearances.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: Homers Tuesday
Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday's 20-1 loss against the Blue Jays.
Paredes provided all of Tampa Bay's offense in the lopsided defeat with a solo shot off Jose Berrios in the fifth inning. The 24-year-old Paredes had been struggling coming into Tuesday's contest, going 1-for-14 in his previous five games. He's still slashing a solid .272/.345/.470 with seven home runs and 32 RBI through 168 plate appearances this season.
