Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sent to minors
The White Sox optioned Sosa to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
When he was called up from Charlotte on April 6, Sosa looked on track to fill in as the White Sox's everyday third baseman in place of the injured Yoan Moncada (adductor), but the 24-year-old stuck around with the big club for just over two weeks. The writing was likely on the wall for Sosa's demotion after he had started in just two of Chicago's last five games. The White Sox selected infielder Danny Mendick's contract from Charlotte on Monday, and he appears to be the next man up to fill in at third base until Moncada returns.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Mired in extended skid
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday, but he still carries a .158/.200/.158 slash line over the 40 plate appearances covering his last 10 games.
Gelof appeared primed to build on a highly encouraging rookie 2023 campaign after he followed up an impressive spring by reaching safely in nine of the first 12 games of the season. However, matters took a serious turn for the worse after that point, as the aforementioned slash line indicates. Consistent and impactful contact have both proven highly elusive -- Gelof sports a 32.5 percent strikeout rate in that 10-game sample and hasn't recorded an extra-base hit since the solo home run he belted against the Rangers on April 10.

Ernie Clement SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Goes deep in loss
Clement went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Clement left the yard with a solo blast to left field off Joe Musgrove in the third inning for his second home run of the year. Clement came into this season with just four career home runs and is already halfway to that mark in the first month of the campaign. The 28-year-old is slashing .295/.304/.500 with five extra-base hits, four RBI, nine runs and a 0:5 BB:K in 46 plate appearances.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Homers again Sunday
Westburg went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a triple, a walk and two total RBI in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Royals.
Westburg is up to a nine-game hitting streak, going 16-for-35 (.457) with three homers and 10 RBI in that span. The 25-year-old is thriving in a near-everyday role, often playing at third base versus right-handed pitchers and at second base against southpaws. He's up to five homers, 18 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .333/.392/.639 through 80 plate appearances. Westburg launched just three homers in 68 major-league games a year ago.

Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Heading to Triple-A
Sosa will be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Sosa has struggled to a .132 average with 13 strikeouts over 38 at-bats in 12 contests with the White Sox this season and he'll now get a chance to reset with the Triple-A squad. Danny Mendick is expected to have his contract selected from Charlotte and join Chicago's major-league roster Monday.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Mariners' Luis Urias: Exits early versus Rockies
Urias left Sunday night's matchup with the Rockies after he suffered a right wrist contusion, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Urias was hit by sinker from Peter Lambert in the top of the second inning, exiting the contest in the bottom of the frame. Josh Rojas replaced him at third base and an update on Urias will likely be provided following the game.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: On bench for nightcap
Rojas is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader in Colorado.
Rojas will get a breather after he went 1-for-3 with a walk in the team's 2-1 extra-inning loss in Sunday's matinee. Luis Urias will replace him at the hot corner and bat eighth in the nightcap.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Should be back Tuesday
Devers (knee) is expected to rejoin the lineup Tuesday against the Guardians, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
The 27-year-old sat out Sunday for the fourth consecutive game due to a bone bruise in his left knee, but he should return to action following Monday's team off day. It's been a slow start to the season for Devers, who has a .188/.328/.375 slash line with two homers through 58 plate appearances.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Beginning rehab stint Tuesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that LeMahieu (foot) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports.
The veteran infielder was originally expected to begin the rehab stint Friday, but it was pushed back after an MRI showed less healing than expected. LeMahieu has been cleared for game action just a couple days later, however, so it's apparently not a significant issue. He'll likely require at least a handful of games in the minors before joining the Yankees, as he's been sidelined just over a month.
