Dubon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

Dubon has been hot with the bat as of late, but he'll put his eight-game hitting streak on hold while he rests in the series finale with the Cubs. David Hensley will step in for Dubon as the Astros' starting second baseman.

The Nationals will call up Alu from Triple-A Rochester prior to Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Alu was optioned back to Triple-A on Monday following Corey Dickerson's return from the injured list, but he'll rejoin the Nationals just two days later with first baseman/designated hitter Joey Meneses going on the paternity list. According to Blanco, Alu may not arrive in Miami prior to Wednesday's 6:40 p.m. ET opening pitch, so he might not be ready to play until Thursday's series finale.

McNeil is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

The Mets don't have a single left-handed hitter (not including switch hitters) in Wednesday's lineup against southpaw Josh Fleming. Eduardo Escobar is playing second base and batting second while McNeil sits.

Valdez is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Mariners, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Valdez will grab a seat on the bench to open the finale against Seattle with left-hander Marco Gonzales on the mound. Pablo Reyes will handle duties at second base and hit seventh in Valdez's absence.

Hernandez (hamstring) is hitting sixth and playing shortstop against the Mariners on Wednesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Hernandez returns after missing three games with a strained left hamstring. The veteran infielder will handle shortstop duties with Pablo Reyes moving to second base and Enmanuel Valdez beginning Wednesday's contest on the bench.

Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wisely has been handling a near-everyday role for most of May while bouncing between second base and center field, but his time as a regular in the San Francisco lineup looks to be over now that the Giants have recently welcomed Brandon Crawford and Mike Yastrzemski back from the injured list. The rookie will be on the bench for the third game in a row Wednesday.

The Mets optioned Guillorme to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

He'll head down to the minors to clear room on the 26-man active roster for corner infielder Mark Vientos, who was called up from Triple-A. Guillorme is the Mets' best and most versatile defensive infielder, but his bat has been even weaker than usual this season and the floundering New York offense could benefit from the higher offensive upside that Vientos offers.

Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Marte will get a breather with Arizona and Oakland getting together for a day game after Tuesday night's contest lasted 12 innings. Josh Rojas will slide over to second base and Emmanuel Rivera gets a start at third base while Marte heads to the bench.

Diaz is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Diaz has gone 2-for-22 with no RBI or runs scored since he went 3-for-4 with three homers versus the Yankees on May 9. He'll get a breather Wednesday and will be replaced at second base by Tony Kemp, who will bat eighth in the series finale with Arizona.

Dubon went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Cubs.

Dubon led off the game with a ground-rule double and came around to score on a wild pitch. Six frames later, he hit another two-bagger and tallied his second run. Despite the return of Chas McCormick, Dubon has remained the leadoff hitter for the Astros. He's earned that role, as he's in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, during which he's hit .407 with two RBI and six runs scored.
