  • Angels' Michael Stefanic: Back on big-league roster

The Angels recalled Stefanic from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

He's taking the roster spot of the injured Anthony Rendon (back). Stefanic could see some action in the infield, especially if the Angels wind up trading Luis Rengifo.

  • David Hensley 1B | DET

Marlins' David Hensley: Joining active roster

The Marlins added Hensley to the 26-man roster Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins claimed Hensley from the Astros on Monday, and with Miami making a slew of trades at the deadline, Hensley will immediately join the active roster. It's unclear if the utility man will stick around long-term or just serve as a fill-in option until Kyle Stowers and Connor Norby arrive from Baltimore.

  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Traded to Miami in Rogers package

The Marlins acquired Norby and outfielder Kyle Stowers from the Orioles on Tuesday in exchange for left-hander Trevor Rogers, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Norby was one of Baltimore's top prospects and had recently been operating as the club's primary second baseman, but he's now making his way to Miami. The 24-year-old has a .594 OPS in his first nine big-league games but has a .300/.392/.522 slash line with 16 home runs and 13 steals in 80 games at Triple-A Norfolk this season. Norby should have a regular spot in the lineup for the Marlins the rest of the way, which offers him a more secure outlook than he had in the Orioles' crowded infield.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Drives in run in return

Polanco (knee) started at second base and went 0-for-2 with an RBI sacrifice fly in a loss to the Red Sox on Monday.

Polanco was replaced defensively by Leo Rivas to start the sixth inning, but the veteran infielder seemed to tolerate his time in the game well after exiting Sunday's win over the White Sox with a knee injury. Polanco did see a four-game hitting streak snapped, but the RBI he mustered on his sac fly was his sixth in the last four contests.

  • Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Could be optioned after rehab

The Red Sox are considering optioning Grissom (hamstring) to Triple-A Worcester following the conclusion of his minor-league rehab assignment, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Grissom has to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list by Aug. 9, but the Red Sox may be inclined to leave him at Worcester at that time rather than clearing a spot for him on the 26-man active roster. The 23-year-old has slashed a woeful .148/.207/.160 in 23 contests with the Red Sox this season and is hitting just .231/.333/.269 so far in seven rehab games with Worcester.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Drives in three Monday

McNeil went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI in Monday's win over the Twins.

The 32-year-old shifted back to second base Monday following the acquisition of Jesse Winker, but that didn't derail McNeil's momentum at the plate. Over his last 14 games, he's slashing .340/.352/.720 with 11 runs, 15 RBI and 11 extra-base hits (seven doubles, four homers) among his 17 total knocks.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Moves to third in order

Semien batted third and went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Monday's 6-3 win over the Cardinals.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy tweaked the batting order, having Semien hit third for the first time this season. Josh Smith, who had been batting third, took over as the leadoff hitter. Bochy told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that the change was part of integrating Josh Jung into the lineup. "We're just tweaking it a little bit here," the manager said. "With Jung coming back, you're gonna see a little different lineup. So we wanted to take a look at it here in this series and maybe farther." It's unclear if the switch was for only right-handers or all pitchers. Jung, who was activated off the 60-day injured list Monday, did not play in that night's game, so more changes could be coming once Jung returns to the field.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Contributes homer in comeback win

Marte went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 9-8 win over the Nationals.

Marte provided an RBI single in the fifth inning and a two-run homer in the ninth. The second baseman has slugged five homers and driven in 14 runs over his last seven contests, an impressive stretch even when compared to his lofty standards this season. Marte has a .299/.368/.543 slash line with 24 homers, 71 RBI, 73 runs scored and six stolen bases over 102 games.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Logs 10th steal

India went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a run scored and a walk in Monday's 7-1 win over the Cubs.

India singled and stole a bag in the first inning, and he later walked and scored on TJ Friedl's home run. India has reached double-digit steals for the second consecutive season. He is now one of six Reds players with double-digit stolen bases this season. The 27-year-old continues his solid season at the top of the lineup, hitting .263/.367/.401 with eight homers, 40 RBI and 52 runs scored through 98 games.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Headed north of border

The Blue Jays acquired Wagner, right-hander Jake Bloss and outfielder Joey Loperfido from the Astros on Monday in exchange for left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The clear No. 3 piece in the return for Toronto, Wagner turned 26 years old Sunday and hasn't yet made his big-league debut. The son of esteemed former MLB closer Billy Wagner, Will is slashing .307/.424/.429 with five home runs and has more walks (54) than strikeouts (33) in 70 games for Triple-A Sugar Land. This season, Wagner has started 33 games at first base, 20 games at second base and eight games at third base. He will need to be added to the 40-man roster this offseason in order to be protected from the Rule 5 Draft.
