Holliday went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.

The precocious 20-year-old took Ryan Burr deep in the seventh inning, making Holliday the youngest player in American League history to go yard in three straight games. He's also the 12th player in big-league history to accomplish that feat before his 21st birthday, a list that includes the likes of Fernando Tatis and Juan Soto as well as Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Mel Ott. Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, only two players have had longer streaks before they turned 21 -- Miguel Cabrera had homers in four straight games in 2004, and Ronald Acuna went yard in five straight in 2018. Holliday is making it clear he has no intention of going back to the minors, and in seven games since his promotion he's batting .375 (9-for-24) with a double, four homers, seven runs and 10 RBI.

Stefanic went 3-for-4 with a double and a run Wednesday in Game 2 of a doubleheader split with the Yankees.

Stefanic didn't get into Game 1, but he started the second contest at second base and logged his first three-hit game of the campaign. The infielder has three multi-hit performances over his past four games and has gone 7-for-13 (.538 average) during that span, though only one of those seven knocks went for extra bases. Despite his recent solid hitting and .304 average on the season, Stefanic may see less playing time with Anthony Rendon getting activated from the injured list Tuesday.

Edman (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City during the weekend, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Edman is slated to play in a simulated game Thursday to test his wrist in the field, and he'll head back out on a rehab assignment if all goes well. The 29-year-old infielder is expected to remain in the minors for at least a week in what will be his third separate rehab stint of the year.

Drury isn't in the Angels' lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Drury went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and a walk during a loss in Game 1, and he'll now take a seat to begin the nightcap. Michael Stefanic will draw the start at the keystone and bat ninth.

Sogard will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Sogard will pick up his third consecutive start, this time facing off against a lefty (Cole Ragans) after his prior two starts came versus right-handed pitching. Tyler O'Neill missed both of those two matchups against righties and had been viewed as day-to-day until he was placed on the injured list Wednesday with an infection in his left lower leg. With O'Neill now in line for at least a week-long absence, Sogard could have an opportunity to see continued reps versus righties after opening his big-league career with five hits and two walks through his first 18 plate appearances. However, the Red Sox brought back the left-handed-hitting Enmanuel Valdez from Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move Wednesday, and he could challenge Sogard for O'Neill's vacant spot in the lineup versus righties.

The Red Sox recalled Valdez from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The 25-year-old is back in the big leagues as Tyler O'Neill (illness/leg) lands on the injured list. Boston's infield is currently in good health, so Valdez is unlikely to see much action while in the majors.

Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Turang will retreat to the bench for the second time in three games while Atlanta sends a lefty (Chris Sale) to the bump. Andruw Monasterio will replace Turang at second base.

Garcia is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

The left-handed-hitting Garcia has been scorching hot lately, but with lefty Blake Snell on the bump for the Giants, Garcia will begin the contest on the bench. Ildemaro Vargas will take over at second base and bat fifth.

Brujan is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Brujan has now been out of the lineup each of the last three times the Marlins have faced a left-hander. He's started just two games in center field and five of 12 overall since Jazz Chisholm was traded to the Yankees on July 27. Cristian Pache will draw the start in center field Wednesday.

Torres is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Angels.

Torres had started in each of the Yankees' last 11 games, but he'll get some rest in the first game of the twin bill. Oswaldo Cabrera will get the nod at second base for the early game, but expect Torres to be back in the lineup and man the keystone in the nightcap.
