  • Giants' Christian Koss: Makes MLB debut Tuesday

Koss went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Astros.

Koss drew the start at second base during his big-league debut. The 27-year-old reached first on a walk in the third frame and displayed his speed by scoring from first on a two-run double by Willy Adames. Koss is expected to operate as a utility infielder for the Giants this season, though he's a candidate to receive playing time in the outfield as well, per Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Nationals' Amed Rosario: Batting second vs. lefty

Rosario will start at second base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

The Nationals are facing a lefty (Easton Lucas) for the second time in six games this season, and Rosario has now filled in at second base for the left-handed-hitting Luis Garcia on both occasions. Rosario batted sixth in his first start Saturday versus the Phillies, but after going 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional runs in that contest, he'll move up to a more prominent spot in the batting order in his second start.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Out Wednesday versus left-hander

Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Toronto.

Southpaw Easton Lucas is on the hill for the Blue Jays, so Garcia will grab a seat in favor of Amed Rosario, who will start at second base and bat second. Garcia has been out of the lineup both times the Nationals have faced a lefty in the early going this season.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Taking seat Wednesday

Sosa is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Twins.

Sosa has now started four of the first six contests this season at second base. He will begin Wednesday's tilt on the bench as Brooks Baldwin mans the keystone for the White Sox.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Snaps skid at plate

Sosa went 3-for-4 with a double Tuesday against the Twins.

Sosa made an early impression by slugging a home run on Opening Day. However, he was hitless across his last eight plate appearances entering Tuesday's action, and he now has four hits across 16 at-bats for the season. Sosa has started four of five games at second base with Josh Rojas (toe) sidelined.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Homers again in three-hit evening

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk, three RBI and two runs in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Lowe buoyed the Rays with a two-run blast in the fourth and added another RBI with a base knock in the eighth. He's enjoyed a productive homestand to open up the 2025 season and is the team leader in hits (seven), RBI (five) and home runs (two) through the first five games of the year.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Productive night at plate Tuesday

Rengifo went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-inning win over St. Louis.

Rengifo doubled to plate Tim Anderson and get the Angels on the board in the second inning of Tuesday's high-scoring affair. Although Rengifo is batting just .211 through 19 at-bats to begin the season, it's encouraging to see the utility man healthy after missing time during spring training with a hamstring injury.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Receives first day off

Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After starting the first five games of the season and going 3-for-15 with a double, a homer and a 4:6 BB:K, Cronenworth will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Jose Iglesias will man the keystone and bat seventh against Cleveland lefty Logan Allen.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Fitzgerald is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Fitzgerald started the first four games of the season at second base and will receive a day off after going 4-for-14 with a double, two runs, a stolen base and four strikeouts. Rookie Christian Koss is making his MLB debut at the keystone Tuesday.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Making first start of season

Julien will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

It's the first start of the season for Julien, who has been limited in the early going due to an illness. He did receive three plate appearances off the bench in Monday's loss to the White Sox, going hitless.
