Chavis was promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Chavis made quick work of Double-A Portland after his 80-game suspension for performance enhancing substances, slashing .303/.400/.536 with seven home runs in 128 at-bats. The 23-year-old could seemingly jump up to the majors come roster expansion in September, but the Red Sox would first need to add him to the 40-man roster.

Semien went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Semien's bat remained red-hot despite the loss, with Thursday's effort representing his eighth multi-hit tally of August. The shortstop has offered virtually a bit of everything this month, compiling four doubles, his first three home runs since June, six walks, 15 runs and even a pair of steals. It's led to an 11-point boost in Semien's batting average to .267, after his season figure had mostly lingered in the .245-.255 range for a month-plus.

Merrifield went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Thursday against the Rays.

Merrifield extended his hitting streak to 12 games -- this was his first three-hit game in that span -- while also stealing his 28th base of the season. While he hasn't kept pace with his 2017 breakout in most areas, he leads the American League in stolen bases and his aggressiveness on the basepaths is enough to make him valuable in all formats.

Franklin (quadriceps) is starting a rehab assignment with the Brewers' rookie-ball affiliate Thursday.

After a lengthy stay on the shelf with a quad injury, Franklin is ready for game action -- albeit at the rookie level. Franklin has been sidelined since May 9, so he figures to need an extended rehab assignment before the Brewers even consider activating him from the 60-day disabled list.

Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Thursday's 7-2 win over the White Sox.

It was the rookie infielder's first career long ball and it was one of three solo shots by the Tigers in the sixth inning. Rodriguez produced a multi-hit effort for just the second time in August and he owns a rough .211 average in 109 at-bats this year.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.

The rookie had found success at the plate elusive in the early going of his big-league career, so Wednesday's two-RBI night was a much-needed surge. Lowe entered the game hitting just .091 over his first 10 contests, but his work at Triple-A Durham before his promotion (.304/.380/.613 line over 205 plate appearances) implies he's more than capable of hitting his way out of the early slump.

Herrera has started the last two games at third base for the Reds, going a combined 2-for-7 with a run scored. On Tuesday he played third base while Eugenio Suarez shifted over to shortstop, and on Wednesday he provided Suarez a day off.

Herrera will probably retreat to the bench this weekend against the Cubs, but he's starting to get more playing time now after struggling to find at-bats upon his callup.

McNeil went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

He collected both hits in his first two trips to the plate, setting a Mets rookie record in the process with hits in eight consecutive at-bats. McNeil now boasts a .333/.392/.495 slash line through his first 28 big-league games, although the power he flashed this year in the minors (19 homers in 88 games between Double-A and Triple-A) hasn't shown up at the big-league level.

Altuve went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-7 win over Seattle.

This was Altuve's second game back from the disabled list, and he showed his previously injured knee was no longer an issue by stealing his 15th base. The second baseman has batted second the last two games, but should be back at his customary third spot in the order when George Springer (quadriceps) is ready to play again.

Merrifield went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Rays.

Merrifield got the Royals on the board in the fourth inning with the solo shot, his ninth of the season. The 29-year-old is working on an 11-game hitting streak, going 16-for-43 (.372) with a couple of homers and seven RBI in that stretch. Kansas City ranks dead last in runs per game, so there won't be many run-scoring or producing opportunities for Merrifield, but he's more than holding his own with a .302 average and 27 steals.
