McNeil (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The Mets were optimistic that McNeil would be ready to rejoin the lineup in the series finale after sitting out Wednesday, but his left hamstring is apparently still bothering him. With McNeil and Robinson Cano (quadriceps) both banged up, the Mets will hand starts to J.D. Davis in left field and Adeiny Hechavarria at second base.

Torres is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Much to the Orioles' relief, Torres' reign of terror against Baltimore will be put on hold as he rests for the day game after a night game. After slugging two more long balls in Wednesday's win, Torres has now smacked a remarkable 10 of his 12 home runs this season versus Orioles pitching. Thairo Estrada will check in for Torres at shortstop and bat eighth.

Altuve (hamstring) ran in the outfield, ran the bases, hit, took groundballs and performed agility drills Wednesday, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve did just about every baseball activity but play in a game, and that should be coming soon. "Jose is in a good place," manager AJ Hinch said. "We have a plan. We will see whether he needs more (non-game work) or whether he is going to get more toward competition." Altuve could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, which would put him in line for a return early next week.

Chavis went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Blue Jays.

The rookie's 10th homer of the season was a big one, as he tattooed a Jimmy Cordero cutter 424 feet to straightaway center field in the top of the 13th inning to finally put away a Toronto squad that had come back to tied the score in the ninth and 12th. Chavis is slashing .283/.382/.585 through his first 28 big-league games.

Guillorme is traveling to New York to potentially join the Mets after Robinson Cano (quad) was removed from Wednesday's game, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Guillorme was pulled from Triple-A Syracuse's game shortly after Cano sustained the injury. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but it appears as though Guillorme will be promoted if Cano ends up on the injured list.

Estrada went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-5 win at Baltimore.

Estrada received his first start in a week but still joined in on the home-run barrage against the Orioles with the 417-foot blast in the second inning. The 23-year-old is likely to continue seeing intermittent starting chances for the Yankees despite his .316/.333/.605 slash line in 38 at-bats.

Rodgers went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI in the Rockies' 9-3 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old flashed some of the ability that made him the club's top offensive prospect, lacing three hits including his first career two-bagger. He now has four hits in his first 13 at-bats with a pair of RBI through his first three games at the big-league level.

Torres went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs in the Yankees' 7-5 victory over the Orioles on Wednesday.

Torres just keeps demolishing Baltimore pitching, as this was already his fourth multi-homer game of the year against the Orioles, who have remarkably yielded 10 of his 12 home runs on the season overall. It's anyone's guess why they continue to pitch to him, but the Yankees have one more game at Camden Yards on Thursday to close off a four-game set, so the young infielder will get one more chance to pad those numbers.

McNeil, who is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Nationals, is dealing with left hamstring tightness, but expects to be back in the lineup Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

He felt it toward the end of Tuesday's game when he took second base on defensive indifference, but the injury is not considered serious. J.D. Davis will start in left field and hit second in his place.

Andrus (hamstring) went 0-for-3 in the first game of his rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.

Andrus served as the designated hitter Tuesday and will do so again Wednesday, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. The injured shortstop is expected to be activated off the injured list Saturday, the first day he is eligible. While Andrus has been on the IL, Logan Forsythe has been the primary fill-in at shortstop for the Rangers.
