The shortstop is hitting .331 with six homers, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored this season and will likely return to an everyday role and a lofty position in the Rangers' batting order.

Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Giants.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Heads to bench

Rodgers will head to the bench Saturday against the Orioles.

Rodgers has started five of eight games since joining the big-league roster and has gone 7-for-21 with a double. Ryan McMahon will start at the keystone in his absence.

Merrifield went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer as the Royals dropped the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Merrifield took J.A. Happ deep in the sixth inning for his seventh home run of the season and temporarily tied the score. The 30-year-old is hitting .325 over his last 40 at-bats, but this was his first home run since May 7. For the season, Merrifield is slashing .296/.354/.524 with eight stolen bases across 206 at-bats.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out of lineup

Hernandez is not starting Saturday against the Pirates.
