  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Sitting in matinee

Andrus is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels.

He is hitting .279 with one home run and three steals in 17 games this month. Andrus ranks seventh in the majors with 25 steals. Logan Forsythe will start at shortstop and hit fifth.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Unable to provide offense

Frazier went 0-for-4 with one strikeout against the Nationals on Monday.

The Pirates continue to place Frazier primarily in the leadoff role even though he's slashing .169/.260/.246 in his last 73 plate appearances. Aside from a three-week hot stretch in July, Frazier has flopped in his first season as an everyday second baseman. It wouldn't be surprising to see him moved back into a utility role in 2020.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Moving rehab assignment to Triple-A

Lowe (lower leg) was evaluated by team doctors Monday and given clearance to move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Durham, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The rookie infielder went a combined 1-for-6 in two weekend games with High-A Charlotte and will now make the leap up in competition. Lowe has yet to log a full game in the field during his rehab assignment, but he says he feels good overall despite still being somewhat limited in his mobility on both the bases and defense. "I'm itching to get back," Lowe said. "I'm hoping that it's not very long, but it's something we're going to find out while we're [in Durham] and test it."

  • Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA

Astros' Jack Mayfield: Fills in for injured Correa

Mayfield replaced shortstop Carlos Correa after Correa left Monday's game with back discomfort.

Mayfield started at second base to give Jose Altuve a break but needed to adjust when Correa departed after his first-inning at-bat. Correa is listed as day-to-day, so Mayfield, who was called up to replace injured utility infielder Aledmys Diaz (head), could get some at-bats while Correa mends.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Blasts 26th homer

Marte went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in the Diamondbacks' 5-3 win over the Rockies on Monday.

Marte's breakout campaign continues, as he checked in with his 26th long ball of the season in this contest with a two-run shot off Chi Chi Gonzalez in the sixth inning. He's blossomed into a star in his age-25 season, as Marte now sports a phenomenal .320/.382/.573 slash line across 529 plate appearances.

  • Jorge Polanco DH | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Homers against White Sox

Polanco went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, three runs and two RBI in the Twins' 6-4 loss to the White Sox on Monday.

Polanco continued his recent hot streak, as he cranked his 18th home run of the year off Aaron Bummer in the seventh inning and also slapped his 33rd two-bagger of the season, giving him four multi-hit efforts in his last five games. The 26-year-old is enjoying a career-best season at the dish, as he's now slashing .296/.358/.494 across 555 plate appearances.

  • Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Goes deep in loss

Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Astros.

It was Rodriguez's eighth home run of the season but just his second since May 14. The 27-year-old cooled off dramatically after a hot start to the season, and he's now hitting .224 following Monday's two-hit effort. Rodriguez will offer infield depth with occasional power the rest of the year.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Gets day off

Altuve is not in the lineup Monday against the Tigers, Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve will get what appears to be a well-deserved day off after starting the past 25 games, slashing .352/.419/.676 with nine home runs, 20 RBI, two stolen bases and an 11:13 BB:K during that stretch. Per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Jack Mayfield is starting at the keystone and hitting eighth in place of Altuve on Monday.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: On bench Monday

Castro is not in the lineup Monday against Astros.

Castro has started four of the past five games, going 6-for-16 with a home run and four RBI during that stretch. Ronny Rodriguez is starting at the keystone in his place.

  • Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA

Astros' Jack Mayfield: Back with big club

Mayfield was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Mayfield will provide the Astros with infield depth while Aledmys Diaz (head) spends time on the injured list. The 28-year-old Mayfield has struggled during his limited time in the majors this season (.143/.163/.310 in 43 plate appearances), though he's been hot since the start of August at Triple-A, slashing .333/.353/.730 with seven home runs in 15 games. Cy Sneed was sent to the minors in a corresponding move.
