Elmore had his contract selected from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Elmore slashed .322/.387/.455 with six homers, 35 RBI and three stolen bases over 109 games at Triple-A, and he'll now have a chance to finish off the 2019 campaign in the big leagues, likely in a bench role.

Merrifield went 2-for-5 with three runs Monday in the Royals' 6-5 win over the Athletics.

Merrifield hasn't been running much lately -- he has three steals in five attempts since Aug. 1 -- but he's maintained his high-contact ways throughout the campaign and is on track for a second straight season with an average above .300. The 30-year-old has banged out two hits in each of his last three games and has accrued a .371/.391/.516 slash line thus far in September.

Rojas isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Rojas will retreat to the bench with a southpaw in Caleb Smith set to toe the rubber for the opposition. Tim Locastro draws the start in left field and is set to lead off.

McNeil went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Rockies.

He took Anthony Senzatela deep in the third inning, McNeil's fifth homer in September and 21st of the season. His batting average has dropped off -- he's slashing only .263/.344/.561 through 14 games this month -- but the 27-year-old is still batting a robust .319 on the year with 21 home runs and 70 RBI.

Marte went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.

Marte started in center field, then moved to second base when Jarrod Dyson pinch ran for Wilmer Flores, before he ended up at shortstop when Nick Ahmed (finger) left the game. Ahmed was confident when talking to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic about returning in time for Tuesday's game. If Ahmed is not cleared for Tuesday, Marte could slot in at shortstop for the 11th time this season.

Semien went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, two runs and two RBI in the Athletics' 6-5 loss to the Royals on Monday.

Semien continues to swing a hot bat, with this latest multi-hit effort extending his current hitting streak to seven games. He cranked his 31st long ball of the season in this contest, touching up Glenn Sparkman with a second-inning, two-run shot. The 28-year-old continues to enjoy a career year at the dish, with this bringing his slash line up to a healthy .284/.365/.519 in 151 games.

Arraez went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 5-3 win over the White Sox.

Arraez singled three times Monday, including a two-run base hit in the sixth inning to give Minnesota a 5-2 lead. The rookie utilityman has been red-hot in September, going 23-for-54 (.426 average) with 10 runs scored.

Diaz is not in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Diaz has been a near-everyday starter at second base since making his big-league debut in early August, though he hasn't exactly earned such a role. He's hit just .153/.248/.260 in 37 games. Starlin Castro slides to second base in his absence, with Jon Berti starting at third.

Joseph was claimed off waivers by the Pirates on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Joseph will now head to his third team of the season. He's done very little in 19 games for Oakland and San Francisco so far this year, hitting .151/.193/.245. It's hard to envision him playing a major role in Pittsburgh over the final two weeks.

Castro is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Jordy Mercer will fill in at second base while Castro rests after turning in a productive first half of September. Over his 11 starts this month, Castro has delivered multiple hits in eight of those contests, including each of his last five games. Castro's .305 average this season leads all Tigers hitters.
