Marte will get a rest Friday against Houston.

Marte sits after starting 16 straight games, a stretch in which he hit .226/.324/.435 with four homers. Jake McCarthy will take over in center field.

Ibanez (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Ibanez has been on the injured list since Aug. 30 with a left hamstring injury. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Monday and wound up going 2-for-9 with a run scored across three games. He's not starting in his return to the major-league roster Friday against the White Sox, but he figures to see time all around the diamond during the final weeks of the season. Yohel Pozo was sent to Round Rock to make room for Ibanez on the 28-man roster.

Diaz was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Diaz has recently been operating as Miami's everyday third baseman, but he'll head back to the minors despite going 7-for-20 with four walks and two runs in his past eight contests. Eddy Alvarez and Joe Panik should split time at the hot corner for the Marlins.

Rengifo went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and another run scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over the White Sox.

The 24-year-old continued his productive month, taking Reynaldo Lopez deep in the second inning to stake the Angels to a 2-0 lead. Rengifo hit just .151 through the end of July and was sent to Triple-A in August, but he's bounced back in September by slashing .290/.343/.581 with three homers and seven RBI in 10 games.

Jones was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Jones has been absent from the starting lineup for three straight games, though he did score the game-winning run as a pinch-runner in Thursday's contest. His demotion will should allow both Ramon Urias and Kelvin Gutierrez to see more regular playing time moving forward.

Frazier went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base Thursday against the Giants.

Frazier now has seven hits across his last two games and extended his modest hitting streak to three games. He also notched his ninth stolen base of the season, matching his previous career high that came in 2017. On the campaign, Frazier has maintained a .308/.372/.411 line with 40 RBI and 76 runs scored across 583 plate appearances.

Chavis (elbow) is in the lineup Thursday for Triple-A Indianapolis, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The 26-year-old has been out since Aug. 28 with an elbow strain but is expected to return to the majors soon. His rehab assignment is expected to carry through at least the weekend, setting him up to be activated at some point next week. The second baseman has appeared in six games for the Pirates this season after being acquired at the trade deadline, posting a .364 batting average with three extra-base hits in 22 at-bats.

McNeil went 3-for-4 with a triple, double and two runs Wednesday in the Mets' 11-4 loss to the Cardinals.

McNeil has churned out three multi-hit performances in his last six starts to raise his average up to .250, but he still isn't supplementing it with many counting stats. He has only two steals on the season, and his 23-homer campaign in 2019 is increasingly looking like a product of the juiced ball. In the two years since, McNeil has left the yard 10 times in just over 600 plate appearances.

Arroyo (illness) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Arroyo began working out in Worcester early in the week, and he'll progress to minor-league game action Thursday. The 26-year-old has been out since he tested positive for COVID-19 in late August but should be able to rejoin the Red Sox as a depth option after a few rehab appearances.

Andrus went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBI in Wednesday's 12-10 win over the Royals.

Andrus' .605 OPS on the season remains his worst mark for any campaign in which he's logged at least 200 plate appearances, but the veteran infielder is at least heating up while the Athletics look to claw their way back into the wild-card race. Since the calendar flipped to September, Andrus is hitting .350 while scoring seven times and driving in six in 12 games. He'll remain in the lineup for Thursday's series finale, starting at shortstop and batting eighth.
