Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Cranks long ball
Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run in a 5-2 win against Texas on Sunday.
Altuve led off the bottom of the first with his ninth home run and tacked on a double and run in the third inning. Following a sluggish April, the 32-year-old has been hot throughout May with a .343/.403/.757 slash line, eight home runs, 18 runs and 11 RBI.

Luis Rengifo LF | SD
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Gets fifth straight start
Rengifo will start at second base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Tyler Wade is picking up a start in right field with Taylor Ward (arm) on the bench for the second game in a row, paving the way for Rengifo to man the keystone for the fifth straight contest. Rengifo has gone a respectable 5-for-16 with a home run in those past four games, so he could have a case for maintaining the everyday role at second base over Wade if Ward's injury proves to be a short-term concern. Wade has provided a .588 OPS on the season and likely profiles better as a utility player than an everyday middle infielder.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Sits for first time since May 4
Kemp is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
With southpaw Patrick Sandoval on the bump for the Angels, the lefty-hitting Kemp will get a day off while Sheldon Neuse picks up a start at the keystone. Kemp had started in each of Oakland's last 18 games, leading off 15 times during that stretch while slashing .180/.257/.262.

Yonny Hernandez 2B | NYM
Diamondbacks' Yonny Hernandez: Sent to minors
The Diamondbacks optioned Hernandez to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
During his four-day stint with the big club, Hernandez appeared in three games and went 0-for-8 with a pair of strikeouts. The Diamondbacks replaced him on the active roster with third baseman Drew Ellis, who was called up from Reno and will get the start at the hot corner in Sunday's series finale with the Cubs while Josh Rojas (hand) rests.
-
Josh Rojas 3B | KC
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Sitting out Sunday
Rojas (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
The lefty-hitting Rojas will sit out Sunday's series finale after suffering a bruised left hand in Saturday's 7-6 win, but it's unclear if the injury or the fact that southpaw Wade Miley is on the hill for Chicago is what's keeping him out of the lineup. Regardless, newly recalled Drew Ellis will fill in at third base for Rojas.
-
Luis Arraez 2B | PHI
Twins' Luis Arraez: Gets leadoff chance Sunday
Arraez will start at first base and bat leadoff Sunday against the Royals, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
With Byron Buxton getting a breather in the series finale, Arraez will get a look in the leadoff role after batting second in two of the Twins' last three games. Arraez starred Saturday in the Twins' 9-2 win, going 2-for-3 with two walks, three runs and two RBI.
-
Luis Urias 2B | TOR
Brewers' Luis Urias: Resting Sunday
Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Urias will get a breather in the series finale after he started each of Milwaukee's last 11 games. Mike Brosseau will fill in at shortstop in place of Urias, who went 2-for-5 with his third home run of the season in Saturday's 5-1 win.
-
Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Not starting matinee
Torres is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the White Sox.
Torres started the past five games and went 6-for-20 with two doubles, two walks, an RBI and four runs, but he'll take a seat for Game 1 of Sunday's twin bill. He's likely to be back in the lineup for the nightcap.
-
Sam Haggerty LF | TEX
Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Joining big-league club
Haggerty had his contract selected by the Mariners on Sunday.
The 27-year-old lost his spot on Seattle's 40-man roster during the offseason and will now rejoin the major-league club. Haggerty played in 35 games for the Mariners last season and had a .538 OPS, but he's enjoyed a strong start to the 2022 campaign at Triple-A Tacoma with a .304/.378/.512 slash line, five home runs, 21 RBI and 13 stolen bases.
-
Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM
Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Heads to bench Sunday
Ibanez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Ibanez is mired in a 2-for-37 slump and will take a seat for the second time in the past three games. Brad Miller will man third base in his place while Mitch Garver serves as the designated hitter.
