Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: MRI scheduled
Marte (back) will undergo an MRI on Wednesday and won't play in the Diamondbacks' series finale against the Marlins later in the day, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Marte was pulled from Tuesday's 12-6 loss with what was described as back stiffness. The Diamondbacks are technically still in the hunt for a postseason berth, but the team faces long odds to come away with one of the National League's two wild-card spots. As such, the organization may not want to push a valuable asset like Marte, who has enjoyed a breakout campaign.

Amed Rosario 3B | NYY
Mets' Amed Rosario: Cracks 13th homer
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Mets' 6-1 victory over the Rockies on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old checked in with long ball No. 13 on the season with this sixth-inning, two-run blast off Tim Melville. Rosario's having an average season at the dish with a .289/.326/.430 slash line in 146 games, but it's an improvement on past years and he has managed to enhance his value with his contributions on the basepaths, logging 17 stolen bases in 25 attempts.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Exits with back stiffness
Marte left Tuesday's game against the Marlins in the fifth inning due to back stiffness, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
He went 2-for-2 with a double and a run prior to being replaced by Josh Rojas. This is not the first time Marte has dealt with back issues this season, so hopefully he is able to continue to manage the issue without being shut down before the end of the season.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting against lefty
Lux isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.
Lux will head to the bench with a lefty in Blake Snell slated to toe the rubber for the opposition. Max Muncy moves over to the keystone and will bat fifth.

Jake Elmore 2B | CHW
Pirates' Jake Elmore: Promoted to big club
Elmore had his contract selected from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
Elmore slashed .322/.387/.455 with six homers, 35 RBI and three stolen bases over 109 games at Triple-A, and he'll now have a chance to finish off the 2019 campaign in the big leagues, likely in a bench role.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Sitting vs. lefty
Rojas isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.
Rojas will retreat to the bench with a southpaw in Caleb Smith set to toe the rubber for the opposition. Tim Locastro draws the start in left field and is set to lead off.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Launches 21st homer
McNeil went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Rockies.
He took Anthony Senzatela deep in the third inning, McNeil's fifth homer in September and 21st of the season. His batting average has dropped off -- he's slashing only .263/.344/.561 through 14 games this month -- but the 27-year-old is still batting a robust .319 on the year with 21 home runs and 70 RBI.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Plays three positions Monday
Marte went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.
Marte started in center field, then moved to second base when Jarrod Dyson pinch ran for Wilmer Flores, before he ended up at shortstop when Nick Ahmed (finger) left the game. Ahmed was confident when talking to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic about returning in time for Tuesday's game. If Ahmed is not cleared for Tuesday, Marte could slot in at shortstop for the 11th time this season.

Isan Diaz 2B | DET
Marlins' Isan Diaz: On bench Monday
Diaz is not in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Diaz has been a near-everyday starter at second base since making his big-league debut in early August, though he hasn't exactly earned such a role. He's hit just .153/.248/.260 in 37 games. Starlin Castro slides to second base in his absence, with Jon Berti starting at third.

Corban Joseph 2B | BAL
Pirates' Corban Joseph: Picked up by Pirates
Joseph was claimed off waivers by the Pirates on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Joseph will now head to his third team of the season. He's done very little in 19 games for Oakland and San Francisco so far this year, hitting .151/.193/.245. It's hard to envision him playing a major role in Pittsburgh over the final two weeks.
