Brewers' Luis Urias: Swats 12th homer

Urias went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-0 win over the Mets during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

The 24-year-old infielder went yard in both ends of the twin bill, giving him 12 homers on the year. Urias has emerged as a solid contributor for the Brewers, slashing .266/.338/.492 since the beginning of June with seven home runs, 19 RBI and 25 runs through 33 games.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Delivers two hits in win

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

Hoerner returned to the lineup Sunday following a month away due to a hamstring strain, and he's now gone 4-for-12 in his first three contests back. The Cubs will likely monitor Hoerner's hamstring carefully in the short term, but there's no doubt they want the 24-year-old and his .337 batting average in the batting order as often as possible.

Brewers' Luis Urias: Homers in Game 1

Urias went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 4-3 loss to the Mets in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Urias took Mets ace Jacob deGrom deep to lead off the first inning. The 24-year-old infielder had gone just 1-for-19 in his previous four games, so it was good to see him end the skid. Urias has 11 homers, 40 RBI, 39 runs scored and three stolen bases through 81 contests.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Not starting nightcap

McNeil is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader versus Milwaukee.

McNeil won the game for the Mets in Game 1 with a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning, and he'll head to the bench for Game 2. The 29-year-old went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the game. Jose Peraza will cover the keystone in his place during the nightcap.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not starting Wednesday

Lux isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Lux had started each of the last five games, and he went 6-for-17 with two doubles, three runs, two RBI, a stolen base and two walks. He'll get a breather Wednesday while Chris Taylor starts at shortstop and Albert Pujols enters the lineup at first base.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Exits with neck tightness

Albies was removed from Wednesday's game against the Pirates as a precautionary measure due to neck tightness.

Albies went 1-for-3 with a double and a run to begin Wednesday's contest, but he was replaced by a pinch hitter in the top of the sixth inning. While his early exit was labeled as precautionary, it's not yet clear whether the 24-year-old will be forced to miss additional time. He'll have a shot to recover during Atlanta's scheduled day off Thursday prior to Friday's series opener in Miami.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Supplies RBI, run scored in return

India (ankle) went 1-for-2 with an RBI double, a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Kansas City.

India started at second base and hit leadoff, but he only played six innings. After the contest, manager David Bell described India as "quite a bit less than 100 percent," Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Bell didn't rule India out of the lineup for Wednesday's series finale in Kansas City, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the rookie infielder get another day or two off prior to the All-Star break.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji-hwan Bae: Reinstated from injured list

Bae (knee) was reinstated from the 7-day minor-league injured list Tuesday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Bae was diagnosed with a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his knee after he was hurt in an outfield collision June 8. Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomcyk anticipated a recovery timetable of 4-to-6 weeks, but the 21-year-old will be able to return slightly sooner than expected. Bae should be available at Double-A Altoona going forward.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: On bench Tuesday

Hoerner is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The second baseman takes a seat following a 2-for-4 effort in Monday's blowout loss. Sergio Alcantara, recalled Tuesday, will start at second base as the Cubs try to snap their 10-game losing streak.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: On shelf at Triple-A

Garcia has not played for Triple-A Rochester since June 25 due to an undisclosed injury, Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports.

The 21-year-old homered in his first at-bat June 25, his fourth long ball in three days at Triple-A, but then exited the game and hasn't suited up since. The injury explains why Garcia wasn't called up recently when the Nationals dealt with some injuries on their infield, notably to Trea Turner. Until the team released word on what Garcia is dealing with, there's no way to predict when he might see game action or when he might be in line for a return to the majors, but his .383/.456/.767 slash line over 15 games in June for Rochester was very encouraging.
