  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not starting Tuesday

Lux is not in the lineup Tuesday versus St. Louis, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Consecutive two-hit performances have Lux slashing .393/.485/.679 in nine games since the start of July. Hanser Alberto starts at second base with the left-handed Matthew Liberatore pitching for the Cardinals.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Pops second homer

Guillorme went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Monday's 4-1 win over Atlanta.

His eighth-inning solo shot off Darren O'Day, Guillorme's second homer of the year, gave the Mets a crucial insurance run after Atlanta had made it 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh. The utility infielder is back in the starting lineup at second base while Jeff McNeil is on the paternity list, and Guillorme's taken advantage by rapping out six hits, including two doubles and Monday's home run, in the last three games.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: May get innings at 2B

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Marte may begin playing second base in a game prior to the All-Star break, Jose M. Romero of the Arizona Republic reports.

Marte has served as the designated hitter the last three weeks since a hamstring injury cropped up in mid-June. Lovullo said he'll try to get Marte an inning or two late in a game before the break but added there's a schedule mapped out to get him back on the field after the All-Star game. The discomfort Marte is feeling is much less than before, but the Diamondbacks remain cautious.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: On bench Monday

Estrada isn't starting Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Estrada will get a breather after he went 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, two runs, two RBI and a strikeout Sunday against the Padres. Wilmer Flores is starting at the keystone while David Villar takes over at third base.

  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Remains out of lineup

Kim (thumb) isn't starting Monday against the Rockies, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Kim aggravated a thumb injury Saturday and will be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game. CJ Abrams is starting at shortstop and batting eighth.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: Starts again after Sunday's homer

Chavis will start at first base and bat third in Monday's game against the Marlins.

Chavis will stick in the lineup for the fifth time in six games after he went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Brewers. Though his playing time has been trending up of late, the righty-hitting Chavis still appears poised to see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching moving forward. Yoshi Tsutsugo and Daniel Vogelbach both bat from the left side and should be the Pirates' preferred options at first base and designated hitter, respectively, when the team opposes righties.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Not starting, but back with team

Donovan (illness) isn't starting Monday's game against the Phillies.

Donovan continues to deal with a non-COVID-19-related illness and will be held out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. The worst of the ailment may be behind Donovan, however; Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat relays that the rookie returned to the clubhouse Monday and was able to do some running on the field. He could be available off the bench Monday and return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener with the Dodgers.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Placed on paternity list

McNeil was placed on the paternity list Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

As expected, McNeil will be away from the team for up to a few days while spending time with his family. Travis Jankowski (hand) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday and will replace McNeil on the active roster.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: Smacks 10th homer

Chavis went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run Sunday against the Brewers.

Chavis drew the start at first base and hit fifth with southpaw Eric Lauer on the mound. He took advantage by slugging his 10th home run of the season and second in six starts in July. Chavis is likely to be in the lineup primarily with lefties on the mound for the time being, as each of Yoshi Tsutsugo, Josh VanMeter and Kevin Newman appear to be ahead of him on the depth chart against righties.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Three hits in Sunday's loss

Guillorme went 3-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.

The Mets managed only seven hits in total and none for extra bases in a shutout loss, so it's no surprise Guillorme's performance didn't lead to any real production. With Jeff McNeil headed to the paternity leave, Guillorme should get at least a couple more starts at the keystone to begin the week. and his .303/.374/.360 slash line on the season through 197 plate appearances could give him some appeal as a short-term or DFS option.
