  • Luis Urias 2B | TOR

Brewers' Luis Urias: Sitting in third straight

Urias is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Urias has started regularly when healthy, but Jace Peterson appears to be the preferred option at third base at the moment, as he will man the hot corner Tuesday for the third day in a row.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Sitting again Tuesday

Gorman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, according to Katie Woo of The Athletic.

Gorman's 4-for-29 (.138) stretch at the plate has coincided with Albert Pujols' hot streak, and the rookie will sit out in favor of the veteran for a second straight day. Gorman started seven straight games prior to the mini-break, so he has not lost a regular role just yet.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Returns to field duty

Marte started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 13-7 win over Philadelphia.

Marte was restricted to designated hitter and pinch-hit duty the past week, but he returned to the field just in time to accommodate Arizona's call-up of top prospect Corbin Carroll. Opening up the DH slot allows manager Torey Lovullo to fill up the outfield with young guns Carroll, Alex Thomas and Daulton Varsho while giving Jake McCarthy's hot bat a home in the lineup.

  • Padres' Brandon Drury: Swats 24th homer

Drury went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Monday's 6-5 win against the Giants.

Drury put the Padres up by three with his first-inning two-run homer, and he added what ended up being the decisive RBI with a single in the fifth. The long ball was his first in 14 games after he opened his San Diego tenure with three homers in first nine contests. Drury is slashing .211/.250/.378 with four homers and 18 RBI over 24 games as a Padre.

  • Luis Urias 2B | TOR

Brewers' Luis Urias: Sitting once again Monday

Urias isn't starting Monday against the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Urias is on the bench for a second consecutive matchup after he went just 1-for-8 with a double, four walks and a strikeout over his last three games. Jace Peterson is starting at the hot corner and batting seventh.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Sits out Monday

Gorman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

The lefty-hitting Gorman will bow out of the lineup versus a right-hander (Chase Anderson), despite owning a .327 wOBA (113 wRC+) in those matchups so far during his rookie season. Gorman doesn't look to be in danger of losing out on his near-everyday role; instead, his absence from the lineup is likely a byproduct of the Cardinals wanting to give Paul Goldschmidt a day out of the field by using him at designated hitter.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

    Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting Monday

Lux is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series finale against the Marlins, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Lux will take a seat after he went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two strikeouts in his return to the lineup Sunday following a four-game absence with a neck issue. Hanser Alberto will draw the start at second base and bat ninth versus Miami.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Big game Sunday

Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 9-7 loss to the Brewers.

Hoerner tallied his second three-hit game in the last week, raising his batting average to .293 in the process. The 25-year-old is establishing himself as a good contact hitter without a ton of power, as he has just 11 career home runs across parts of four seasons in the majors, though eight of those have come this year. If Hoerner can add to his power output again in 2023, he figures to take a step forward as a fantasy asset.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Rehab assignment on tap

Albies (foot) is expected to begin a rehab assignment around the middle of this week, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Albies has been on the injured list since mid-June, but he ramped up his progression of baseball activities recently and has now been cleared for a rehab assignment, which will likely be the final step in his recovery process. The 25-year-old will likely need to spend considerable time in the minors given the length of his absence, so it's possible that he's not activated until around mid-September.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: On base twice in win

Chavis went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Chavis walked in his first at-bat but was stranded at second. He later singled in Bryan Reynolds and came around to score on a fielder's choice as the Pirates chased Noah Syndergaard in the sixth inning. Chavis, who has exactly one hit in seven of his last eight games, is now slashing .245/.277/.416 with 13 home runs on the season.
