Arroyo was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Arroyo's placement on the injured list seemed to be purely a procedural one, as he was still going through intake testing after getting claimed off waivers from Cleveland on Thursday. With a career .215/.280/.342 slash line over 71 major-league games, he's likely to be stuck in a bench role in Boston.

Drury will start at second base and will bat sixth Wednesday against the Orioles.

He'll be filling in at the keystone for Cavan Biggio, who receives his first day off of the season. While Drury likely won't be a serious threat to poach additional starts from Biggio, the 27-year-old's versatility along with the absence of everyday shortstop Bo Bichette (knee) has his playing time on the upswing. Drury is making his fourth start in five games, drawing assignments at three different positions during that stretch.

Biggio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

The Blue Jays are wrapping up their series in Baltimore with a day game after a night game and a lefty (Tommy Milone) is on the mound for the Orioles, so Toronto skipper Charlie Montoyo decided it was a good time to give the lefty-hitting Biggio his first day off of the season. Brandon Drury will cover the keystone in place of Biggio, who is slashing .228/.344/.481 with six home runs and three steals through 93 plate appearances.

Chavis went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts and had a throwing error in Tuesday's 13-6 loss to Philadelphia.

Chavis got the start at second base against a right-hander, which is an unusual occurrence in 2020. Typically, manager Ron Roenicke uses Jose Peraza or Jonathan Arauz against righties. Chavis has now fanned 24 times in 53 at-bats (42.9 K%).

Arraez left Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Brewers in the ninth inning after appearing to aggravate a lingering left knee injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Arraez's left knee bothered him during preseason training and cost him some time earlier in the campaign, so he could need a day or two off to move past the issue. He went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in Tuesday's 12-inning win, improving his slash line to .277/.351/.308.

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.

His third-inning blast off Masahiro Tanaka gave the Rays a 4-0 lead, and Blake Snell and the bullpen made it hold up. Lowe extended his hit streak to nine games in the process, a surge during which he has six homers and 14 RBI. He won AL Player of the Week honors last week.

Castro was removed from Tuesday's game against the White Sox with left hamstring tightness.

The 26-year-old went 1-for-3 and appeared to sustain the injury while running out his fifth-inning grounder, since he was replaced in the field for the bottom of the frame. Castro should be considered day-to-day until more is known on the injury.

Andrus has been absent from the Rangers' lineup for the last two games due to a stiff lower back, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Andrus hasn't been placed on the injured list, so the Rangers presumably believe he'll be back in the lineup soon. Isiah Kiner-Falefa has been starting at shortstop in his absence.

Andrus will sit for the second straight game Tuesday against the Padres.

There haven't been any indications that Andrus is injured, though it's a surprise to see him sit twice in a row after starting each of the season's first 20 games. It's certainly possible he's sitting for performance reasons, as he owns a .494 OPS on the year. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will be the shortstop for the second straight game Tuesday.

Torres committed two throwing errors and skipped a ball in the dirt during Monday's victory over Boston. He has six errors on the season, most among MLB shortstops.

Torres hasn't shown much with the bat this year -- he's slashing .246/.358/.319 and has hit only one home run -- so his defensive lapses stand out more than when he's making up for them with production at the plate. For now, manager Aaron Boone appears unconcerned with Torres' defense, stating, "I think he's doing well overall. He's had a couple of hiccups game-wise that have dinged him statistically," per the Associated Press. Torres committed 20 errors between second base and shortstop last season, when he also slugged 38 homers and drove in 90 runs.
