Arraez (knee/ankle) will test his ankle by running on the field and swinging in a batting cage Friday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Arraez suffered an ankle sprain earlier in the week while recovering from knee tendinitis, an injury that sent him to the injured list in mid-September. He's not yet at 100 percent, so he may not make it back before the regular season ends Sunday, but his return doesn't appear to be too far off.

Biggio will sit Friday against the Orioles.

Biggio gets a rest the day after the Blue Jays clinched a playoff berth. Jonathan Villar starts at second base in his absence.

Lowe is not starting Friday against the Phillies, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Lowe sits for the first time in the month of September. This appears to be nothing more than a routine day off, as he's hitting .340/.410/.604 over his last 15 contests. Joey Wendle will be the second baseman in his absence.

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and another run scored during Thursday's win over the Rangers.

Altuve extended Houston's lead with a three-run homer against Lance Lynn in the sixth inning. It was just the fourth home run of the year for the 30-year-old, who has turned in quite the disappointing season compared to his 2019 campaign. Overall, he's batting .225/.288/.341.

Biggio went 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, three runs and two RBI in Wednesday's 14-1 win over the Blue Jays.

The Toronto offense has been on a heater since Sunday, and Biggio -- the team's leadoff hitter -- has been one of the main beneficiaries over the last four games. After failing to score in a stretch of 11 consecutive games, Biggio has now crossed home seven times so far during the final week of the regular season. With a .796 OPS to go with seven home runs and six steals during the abbreviated campaign, Biggio has essentially replicated the numbers he posted as a rookie on a per-plate appearance basis. He's also made 31 starts at second base, 14 in the outfield and seven at third base, so he could have a chance at carrying eligibility at three positions in some fantasy leagues heading into 2021.

Arroyo went 0-for-2 with a run scored and a pair of walks in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Orioles.

Arroyo missed two games with back spasms, but he was able to play the full game Wednesday. He was able to score on a three-run double by Rafael Devers in the third inning. Arroyo has contributed three homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored in 11 games.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Mets.

Lowe got an RBI when he reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Manuel Margot to score in the third inning. In the sixth, Lowe hit a single and scored on a Randy Arozarena homer. Lowe added a two-run blast in the eighth as part of the Rays' three run rally. The 26-year-old is slashing .274/.363/.570 with 14 homers, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases through 53 games this year.

Polanco (ankle) returns to the lineup Wednesday against Detroit, batting seventh and playing shortstop.

Polanco missed Tuesday's game with a sore ankle, though the issue was evidently a very minor one. Even with the Twins having already clinched a playing berth, the team evidently sees no reason to have him sit for the second straight day.

Arroyo (back) will bat ninth as the second baseman Wednesday against the Orioles, Steve Hewitt of the Boston Herald reports.

Arroyo was sidelined for Boston's last two games with back spasms. He's good to go now, however, and will look to build on his .895 OPS in his first 10 games in a Red Sox uniform over the final few days of the year.

Rengifo will start at second base and will bat ninth Wednesday against the Padres.

Rengifo will be rewarded with a second straight start after going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-2 win. With Andrelton Simmons informing the Angels on Tuesday that he was opting out of the season, Rengifo should get the opportunity to play regularly in the middle infield over Los Angeles' final four games.
