Lowe is not starting Friday against the Phillies, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Lowe sits for the first time in the month of September. This appears to be nothing more than a routine day off, as he's hitting .340/.410/.604 over his last 15 contests. Joey Wendle will be the second baseman in his absence.
