    Arroyo hadn't hit a double since June 7 but delivered two in this one as part of a perfect day at the plate -- it was just his eighth multi-hit performance of the season. The infielder is hitting .264 with a .762 OPS, 11 doubles, five homers, 23 RBI and 21 runs scored on the season.

    The 27-year-old ended the first half of the season on a solid power surge -- he's now homered seven times in his last nine games. Lowe is up to 21 long balls, 48 RBI, 47 runs scored and four stolen bases, but his slash line sits at .208/.316/.465 through 335 plate appearances.

    Espinal went 3-for-4 with an RBI single in Sunday's 3-1 win over Tampa Bay.

    Sunday was the infielder's third three-hit effort in 50 games this year. Espinal has seen more of a utility role lately, but he's 8-for-16 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored through seven games in July. Overall, the 26-year-old is slashing .321/.367/.420 through 120 plate appearances.

    Kemp is not starting Sunday's series finale against the Rangers.

    Hitless in five straight games and seven of the last eight, Kemp takes a seat with lefty Kolby Allard on the mound for Texas. He has hit just .220 in 50 at-bats against left-handed pitching in 2021. Jacob Wilson will play left field and bat eighth Sunday.

    Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run homer in Saturday's loss to the Rays.

    Semien gave his team a 2-1 lead with a two-run shot off Ryan Yarbrough in the top of the third, but that proved to be all the runs Toronto could muster in its 5-2 loss. Semien has how homered 22 times this season, giving him a shot to pass his career high of 33 that he set back in 2019.

    Rays' Brandon Lowe: Clears fence twice

    Lowe went 2-for-3 with a walk, a pair of homers and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.

    Lowe opened the scoring with a solo shot off Ross Stripling in the bottom of the first inning, his 19th homer of the season. He beat Stripling again for a two-run shot in the third and now has 20 on the year. That power has kept him as an above-average hitter despite the fact that he's hitting just .208 on the season while striking out 32.3 percent of the time.

    Orioles' Rylan Bannon: Shakes off oblique injury

    Bannon (oblique) returned from the 7-day injured list Wednesday and has gone 1-for-7 with a double, two walks, three runs and a stolen base in his two games since returning to the Triple-A Norfolk lineup.

    Before being reinstated from the IL, Bannon made his return from a month-long absence at High-A Aberdeen, with whom he made six rehab appearances. The 25-year-old infielder is slashing .172/.242/.310 with two home runs and three steals across 95 plate appearances with the Orioles' top minor-league affiliate this season.

    Tigers' Zack Short: Added to Saturday's lineup

    Short will start Saturday's game in Minnesota and bat eighth after Nomar Mazara (illness) was scratched from the lineup, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

    Short will fill in at shortstop for Niko Goodrum, who is moving to the outfield to replace Mazara.

    The shortstop launched a three-run home run Monday, but he has gone 0-for-13 in four games since. Short has played 17 games this season and is hitting .196 with a pair of homers and eight RBI. He's also drawn 13 walks. Niko Goodrum will start at shortstop and bat seventh Saturday.
