  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Racks up three extra-base hits

Altuve went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles, three total runs and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-1 victory against the Angels.

Altuve was a big part of Houston's offense in the win, doubling and scoring in each of the first two innings before knocking a solo home run in the sixth. Of the second baseman's past nine hits, seven -- four doubles and three homers -- have gone for extra bases. Altuve has also been running more of late, tallying three thefts over his past six games. With six steals on the season, he has already surpassed the five he totaled in 2021.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Provides lone run in loss

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-1 loss to the Yankees in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Rosario went 0-for-3 with a walk in the matinee, but he was able to spot the Guardians an early lead with his first-inning blast in the nightcap. He did go without a hit in consecutive contests for the first time since May 5-7, an impressive stretch that's seen him emerge as a reliable bat in the No. 2 spot in the order. The 26-year-old is slashing .287/.322/.397 with three homers, 23 RBI, 40 runs scored and nine stolen bases through 298 plate appearances. All three of his long balls have come since June 15, so it looks like his power is trending in the right direction, though his playing style is more contact-oriented.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Gets breather for nightcap

Gimenez isn't starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Gimenez started at second base in Saturday's matinee and went 1-for-3 with a double, a run, a walk and a strikeout. He'll take a seat while Owen Miller starts at the keystone and bats sixth.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Sitting for nightcap

Torres isn't starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Torres was productive during the first game in the twin bill, as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, a run and a walk. However, he'll get a breather while DJ LeMahieu shifts to second base with Joey Gallo entering the lineup in right field.

  • Sam Haggerty LF | TEX

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Starting once again Saturday

Haggerty is starting Saturday's game against Oakland.

Haggerty is serving as the starting right fielder and batting ninth for a fourth consecutive game. Over the last three matchups, he's gone 4-for-10 with two doubles, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Not starting Saturday

Andrus isn't starting Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Andrus is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak in which he's gone 6-for-17 with a homer, a double, six RBI, two runs and a stolen base. He'll get a breather while Nick Allen starts at shortstop with Tony Kemp taking over at second base.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

Orioles' Jonathan Arauz: Not starting Saturday

Arauz isn't starting Saturday's game against the Twins, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Arauz is getting a day off after he went 0-for-6 with four strikeouts over the last two games. Tyler Nevin is starting at the hot corner and batting eighth.

  • Royals' Whit Merrifield: Adds steal in win

Merrifield went 1-for-3 with a double, a stolen base, a run scored and a walk in Friday's 3-1 win over the Tigers.

Merrifield had a lengthy stretch without a steal, but he's now posted five thefts in his last 13 contests. He's also gone 13-for-51 (.255) in that span. The 33-year-old is up to a .230/.280/.315 slash line with 12 steals in 14 attempts, three home runs, 32 RBI, 37 runs scored and 17 doubles in 75 contests. Despite his career-worst batting line, he's still regularly serving as the leadoff hitter in an everyday role.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Swipes bag in win

Kemp went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base, a run scored and a hit-by-pitch in Friday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

Kemp has hit safely in each of the last two games since snapping an 0-for-14 skid. He was involved in the Athletics' first two runs Friday, scoring the first and knocking in the second with a single. The 30-year-old is up to a .220/.301/.280 slash line with six steals, two home runs, 13 RBI, 26 runs scored and nine doubles through 282 plate appearances. Between second base and left field, Kemp should continue to draw fairly steady playing time.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Leaves yard in Thursday's loss

Andrus went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mariners on Thursday.

Andrus' 402-foot solo shot in the third inning erased an early 1-0 deficit and served as his fourth homer of the season. The veteran shortstop has now hit safely in six straight starts, and he's generated an outstanding .364 average and 1.031 OPS across a modest sample of 25 plate appearances in his last seven contests.
