  • Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Goes yard again

Schneider went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Nationals.

The rookie got the Blue Jays on the board in the third inning with a solo shot off MacKenzie Gore. Schneider has started four straight games -- two at second base and one each at third base and left field -- as the Jays try to cover for the absences of Bo Bichette (quadricep) and Matt Chapman (finger), and he's racked up eight RBI, five runs and eight hits with six of them (three doubles and three homers) going for extra bases. Schneider's also hit fifth or higher in all four games, as manager John Schneider (no relation) rides the hot hand to try and spark an underachieving Toronto offense.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Homers again in multi-hit effort

Torres went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Tigers.

The second baseman turned around Tarik Skubal's 97-mph offering, sending it 454 feet for a solo homer thanks to a 108.6 mph exit velocity and 29 degree launch angle. Torres has six multi-hit efforts in his last 11 games, going 14-for-42 (.333) with three doubles, four home runs, seven RBI and six runs scored during that stretch.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Socks fifth homer

Sosa went 3-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Orioles.

The second baseman went yard for the third time in the last five games and the fifth time this season, getting the White Sox on the board in the third inning by driving a Dean Kremer sinker over the fence in right-center. Sosa has seized control of the starting job at the keystone by batting .333 (12-for-36) over the last 11 games with four long balls and nine RBI, but his 0:9 BB:K during that hot streak suggests that while his power is legitimate, he could still be a batting average and OBP risk down the stretch.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Goes deep twice Tuesday

Rengifo went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's 12-7 loss against the Phillies.

The 26-year-old utility man hit a pair of solo homers Tuesday, each coming off Phillies starter Michael Lorenzen. Rengifo has now hit safely in seven consecutive contests, boasting an eye-popping slash line of .556/.625/1.037 with two doubles, one triple, three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and just two strikeouts alongside five walks during that stretch.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Breaks out of slump

Diaz went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

Diaz had collected three hits over his last 12 games combined before breaking out of the slump Tuesday. All of his hits in this contest were singles. The 23-year-old infielder is now at a .235/.294/.395 slash line with nine home runs, 22 RBI, 16 runs scored and five doubles through 67 contests. After a three-game stint on the bench during last weekend's series versus the White Sox, it appears he's back in his regular role as the Athletics' primary third baseman. Jonah Bride could also fill in at the hot corner if Diaz slumps again.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

    Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sitting Tuesday

Rojas isn't in the Mariners' lineup Tuesday against Oakland.

Tuesday marks the second consecutive game Rojas will miss after breaking his six-game hitting streak Sunday against Kansas City. Jose Caballero will start at second base instead and bat ninth.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Red Sox's Luis Urias: Moves to bench Tuesday

Urias is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

After reaching base in three of his five plate appearances in Monday's 13-5 loss to Houston, Urias will give way to David Hamilton at second base Tuesday. While Pablo Reyes (elbow) is on the shelf, Urias is still likely to see the bulk of the starts at the keystone.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Out of lineup again Tuesday

Westburg is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the White Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

It marks the second straight game and third time in the last four contests that Westburg is not starting. Instead, it will be Adam Frazier at second base and Ramon Urias at third base for the Orioles.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Three hits in loss

Drury went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Monday's 6-4 loss against Philadelphia.

Drury delivered three base hits Monday, including a two-run single in the fourth inning to give the Angels a short-lived 3-1 lead. Over his last eight games, the 31-year-old infielder is batting .324 (11-for-34) with three home runs, 11 RBI and five runs.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Blasts 21st homer

Torres went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a solo home run in Monday's victory over the Tigers.

The 26-year-old infielder put New York on the board with a run-scoring double that chased Tigers' starter Reese Olson from the game with one out in the fifth inning. Torres then extended the lead to 3-0 with his seventh-inning solo shot, the second of back-to-back homers for the Yankees. He has been swinging a hot bat in the month of August, posting a .320 average with five home runs, seven doubles, 11 RBI, 13 runs and four steals across 97 at-bats.
