  • Danny Mendick 3B | CHW

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Two hits in 2024 debut

Mendick went 2-for-4 on Monday against the Twins.

Mendick began the season with Triple-A Charlotte but joined the big-league club Monday and made his debut while starting at third base. Braden Shewmake has picked up the majority of at-bats at the hot corner since Yoan Moncada (thigh) went down, though Shewmake is hitless in his last four starts and is just 5-for-35 overall. His struggles could open up more regular playing time for Mendick, though he has only a career .242 average and .112 ISO across 519 plate appearances.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Belts fifth homer

Julien went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's win over the White Sox.

Julien doubled in a run during the fourth inning before capping off the 7-0 victory with a solo shot in the seventh. He was stuck in a 3-for-24 skid over his previous seven games since his last long ball April 13. Julien continues to flash his power potential with five home runs and eight extra-base hits through 81 plate appearances. However, his inconsistency has led to a .211/.300/.465 slash line.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Taking seat Monday

Drury is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Drury returned from a three-day absence with a hamstring injury to play all three contests of the weekend series versus the Reds, but he'll get a break Monday. Ehire Adrianza will be at second base Monday.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Not starting Monday

Rengifo is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Rengifo had started the last six games and 11 of the previous 13, but he'll begin this one on the bench. Ehire Adrianza will be at second base, and Miguel Sano will handle third.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Pushed off 40-man roster

The White Sox designated Remillard for assignment Monday.

As anticipated, Remillard was moved off the 40-man roster so that the White Sox could open up a spot for infielder Danny Mendick, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of Monday's game against the Twins. Assuming Remillard goes unclaimed off waivers, he'll likely remain in the organization and serve as infield depth at Charlotte.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Royals' Adam Frazier: Losing work to Massey

Frazier is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Frazier will take a seat for the third time in four games and looks to have ceded his regular role at second base to Michael Massey, who returned from the 10-day injured list Friday. The 32-year-old gave the Royals little reason to stick with him as an everyday player, as he's slashing just .159/.327/.159 through 55 plate appearances on the season.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Set to lose 40-man spot

The White Sox are expected to designate Remillard for assignment ahead of Monday's game against the Twins, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The expected transaction will clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Danny Mendick, who is expected to have his contract selected from Triple-A Charlotte. Remillard has gone 1-for-5 during his brief time in the majors this season and will likely stick around in the organization at Charlotte once he clears waivers.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Starts at first base

Reyes started at first base and went 1-for-4 in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Pirates.

Reyes slotted in for the injured Triston Casas (rib), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. The Red Sox are concerned that the injury could be a significant one, and Boston manager Alex Cora will use Monday's off day to decide how the team plans to proceed without Casas, according to Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe. Reyes, Rob Refsnyder and Bobby Dalbec, who started at third base Sunday for Rafael Devers (knee), are the primary candidates to play first base.

  • Curtis Mead 3B | WAS

Rays' Curtis Mead: Swipes pair of bags

Mead went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases Sunday against the Yankees.

Mead has been quiet since taking over the primary second base job with Brandon Lowe (oblique) sidelined, as he's gone just 8-for-40 with no extra-base hits. However, he enjoyed a productive Sunday, tallying an RBI single in the eighth inning while also recording the first stolen bases of his big-league career. Despite his struggles, Mead's playing time appears relatively safe, as he's started 11 of the last 13 games for the Rays.

  • Tigers' Buddy Kennedy: Launches first homer

Kennedy went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

Kennedy brought home a run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning before drilling a two-run shot in the third. It was his first MLB home run since the 2022 campaign. The 25-year-old slashed .288/.354/.509 with nine extra-base hits in 15 games with Triple-A Toledo prior to being called up Saturday.
