  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Three hits in Sunday's win

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win over Minnesota.

The first baseman knocked in Marcus Semien with an RBI single before scoring on Bo Bichette's home run in the first inning. Guerrero has hit safely in 16 of 18 games in September, going 27-for-71 (.380) with seven homers, nine RBI and 21 runs scored this month. He's lifted his impressive slash line to .321/.411/.617 with a major-league-leading 46 homers, 105 RBI and 119 runs scored across 642 plate appearances overall.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Benched versus southpaw

Wade is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Wade will take a seat for the first time since Sept. 12, ending a stretch of six consecutive starts in which he went 6-for-21 with three extra-base hits, five runs, four RBI and four walks. The righty-hitting Darin Ruf will join the lineup as a replacement for the lefty-hitting Wade, who sits with southpaw Max Fried on the bump.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Receives day off

Gurriel is not in the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Gurriel will take a day off after starting the past eight games and delivering a .722 OPS during that span. Aledmys Diaz will start at first base Sunday for Houston.

  • Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Still sitting Sunday

O'Hearn is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

O'Hearn is on the bench for the third consecutive game as Salvador Perez receives a day off from behind the plate to serve as the designated hitter. O'Hearn is 3-for-23 through 12 games in September and may receive inconsistent opportunities down the stretch.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Smacks 36th homer

Olson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Saturday's 3-1 triumph over the Angels.

Olson took Los Angeles starter Jose Suarez deep as part of a three-run first during which Oakland scored all of its runs. The blast gives the first baseman 36 on the year, which ties his career high for homers set in 2019. Olson has now compiled a modest five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 7-for-18 with a double and three long balls.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Takes seat Sunday

Votto is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The veteran gets a day off after going 0-for-1 with a trio of walks Saturday and hitting .226 in his last 10 games. Tyler Stephenson is filling in at first base and batting cleanup Sunday.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Delivers in extra inning

Calhoun went 1-for-5 with a single, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning win over Houston.

Calhoun, who was activated from the injured list Friday, made a second consecutive start at designated hitter and delivered a run for the Diamondbacks. After homering in his return Friday, Calhoun singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning then came around to score on Daulton Varsho's two-run, cushion-needing home run. With the Diamondbacks looking to give younger players opportunities, it's uncertain if Calhoun will be the primary right fielder, his usual spot, once Arizona resumes play against National League teams and will not have the benefit of the DH. Right field has been a pathway for playing time for Pavin Smith, Jake McCarthy and Varsho.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Goes yard in blowout loss

Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk Saturday against the Red Sox.

Mountcastle reached the 30-home run mark when he took Nick Pivetta deep in the first inning. He also singled later in the game. The 24-year-old is hitting .260/.311/.498 with 83 RBI in 530 plate appearances this season.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: Goes deep Saturday

Voit went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk in Saturday's 11-3 loss to Cleveland.

Voit swatted his 11th homer of the season in the eighth inning, connecting off Justin Garza to round out the scoring. Playing time has been sporadic for Voit since the Yankees acquired veteran first baseman Anthony Rizzo from the Cubs, but Voit has shown some signs of life at the plate over his last three games, reaching base five times with a pair of homers and three walks.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Returns at first base

Cronenworth (finger) is starting at first base and hitting second Saturday against the Cardinals.

Cronenworth was held out of the starting lineup for the last week, though he did make an appearance as a pinch hitter Friday. Now back in the lineup, Cronenworth may find a regular home at first base, as it appears that the Padres are contemplating keeping Fernando Tatis at shortstop. In turn, Eric Hosmer is out of the lineup Saturday and could lose playing time to close the season.
