Vaughn went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Angels.
Vaughn came to the plate with the bases loaded in the fourth inning and cleared the bases with a double. That extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's tallied five extra-base hits, eight RBI and four runs scored. Vaughn hasn't taken a step forward this season, and he's fallen down the batting order since Eloy Jimenez and Yoan Moncada have both gotten healthy -- most recently batting sixth for the last two contests.

Mariners' Ty France: Registers three hits
France went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.
France was the only Mariner to have more than one hit Tuesday evening. He doubled home a run in the fifth and later scored in the inning. The 28-year-old now has four multi-hit efforts across his last eight games and is hitting .344/.432/.719 with three homers, five RBI and eight runs scored over that span. He's currently swinging the hottest bat on the team as the calendar gets set to turn over to June.

Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Homers in four-hit effort
Freeman went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.
Freeman's homer was his first in the last seven games. He's hit safely in 19 straight contests, going 35-for-77 (.455) with 18 extra-base hits in that span. The first baseman is playing even better than his usual high standard, and his weeks-long hot stretch has him up to a .344/.416/.589 slash line with 10 homers, 35 RBI, 47 runs scored and six stolen bases through 56 games overall.

Giants' Matt Beaty: Removed from 40-man roster
Beatty was designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Beaty was removed from the 40-man roster to create room for Luke Jackson. In 103 at-bats with Triple-A Sacramento, Beaty has hit .272 with four homers and an .853 OPS. If he goes unclaimed, Beaty will like remain in Triple-A as a depth piece.

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Remains out Tuesday
Santana (back) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Santana left Sunday's loss to the Mariners with a back injury, and while it's not expected to be a long-term issue, the veteran infielder will miss at least one more game while recovering. Connor Joe will be the first baseman in Santana's absence and hit third.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Takes seat Tuesday
Diaz isn't starting Tuesday against the Cubs, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz is 5-for-17 with a homer and three RBI since returning to Tampa Bay's lineup Friday. He'll get a breather Tuesday as Luke Raley picks up a start at first base while batting seventh.

Mervis is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.
Mervis has gone 0-for-11 with five strikeouts over his last four games and is slashing just .194/.275/.306 through his first 69 major-league plate appearances. Trey Mancini will start at first base for the Cubs on Tuesday and Christopher Morel will serve as the designated hitter.

Bohm (hamstring) is back in the lineup Tuesday versus the Mets.
Bohm sat out of Sunday's series finale in Atlanta due to hamstring tightness, but it has proven to be a minor issue. He'll handle third base and bat sixth Tuesday against the Mets and right-hander Kodai Senga.

Phillies' Darick Hall: Cleared for rehab games
Hall (thumb) is beginning a rehab assignment Tuesday with Single-A Clearwater.
Hall will likely require a significant number of tuneup at-bats in the minors given that he's been sidelined since the first week of April because of a torn ligament in his right thumb. However, he's been cleared again for live competition and is about ready to offer the Phillies much-needed help at first base. Hall is first eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list June 5.

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Sitting out again Tuesday
Rizzo (neck) will remain out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview on the Talkin' Yanks podcast.
The team had initially expressed confidence Rizzo wouldn't miss any starts after he exited Sunday's game versus the Padres with a neck injury, but he'll now be out of the lineup for a second straight day. Boone didn't reveal what his full lineup would be, so it's not yet clear who will be playing first base in Rizzo's place.
