Tyler Locklear 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tyler Locklear: Placed on 10-day IL
Locklear was placed on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation Monday.
Locklear was set to be absent from the lineup Monday against the Giants, and it is now understood to be the result of a left elbow issue. The first baseman will now be sidelined until at least Sept. 19, and it's possible that he is going to be forced to miss the rest of the season. In a corresponding move, infielder Tim Tawa was called up from Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Diamondbacks' Tyler Locklear: Absent from lineup
Locklear is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Giants.
Locklear had made 10 straight starts at first base after Pavin Smith (quadriceps) was lost for the season, but he's just 5-for-33 with 14 strikeouts over that stretch. Ildemaro Vargas will handle first base for the Diamondbacks in Monday's series opener.

Rhys Hoskins 1B | MIL
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Expected to be activated Tuesday
Hoskins (thumb) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Hoskins has joined the Brewers in Texas for the start of their three-game set against the Rangers but won't officially be back on the active roster until the second game of the series. The 32-year-old slashed .275/.371/.471 with two home runs over 14 contests on his rehab assignment. Hoskins -- who is coming back from a left thumb sprain -- appears likely to be behind Andrew Vaughn on the Brewers' first-base depth chart, but Christian Yelich's ongoing back issues could create a path to at-bats for Hoskins at designated hitter.

Eric Wagaman 1B | MIA
Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Not playing against righties
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
The Marlins are leaving Wagaman out of the lineup for the fourth straight matchup with a right-handed starting pitcher (Cade Cavalli). The right-handed-hitting Wagaman should remain a fixture in the starting nine versus lefties, as he's produced a .761 OPS in 163 plate appearances against them this season.

Alec Burleson LF | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Reinstated from injured list
The Cardinals activated Burleson (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Burleson spent the minimum 10 days on the shelf while recovering from wrist inflammation and didn't require a rehab assignment prior to being activated. He'll be included in the lineup for Monday's series opener in Seattle, starting at first base and batting third.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Hits another homer
Burger went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 4-2 win over the Astros.
Burger capped off a three-run sixth inning with a two-run shot off Framber Valdez. The long ball was Burger's second in his last three games, and his 14th on the year. The first baseman has recorded a hit in six of his last seven games, going 9-for-25 (.360) with eight RBI during that stretch.

Jake Bauers RF | MIL
Brewers' Jake Bauers: Scores three runs
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, two RBI and a walk in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Bauers knocked a two-run double and came around to score in the first inning. He scored again in the third and seventh innings. Bauers was 1-for-11 in seven games since returning from the injured list before this three-game series against Pittsburgh, during which he produced three consecutive multi-hit performances. He now owns a .213/.331/.373 slash line with 12 extra-base hits and 25 RBI through 178 plate appearances.
-
Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Knocks four hits
Vaughn went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Vaughn knocked an RBI single in the first inning and later scored a run in the third. He's currently stuck in a 21-game homerless drought, though he's collected three or more hits in three of his last eight appearances. Vaughn is now slashing .248/.296/.409 with 31 extra-base hits and 60 RBI through 98 games this season.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Taking seat Sunday
Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Gonzalez had covered first base or second base in each of Boston's last eight games, recording at least one hit in each of those contests while driving in five runs and scoring three of his own. Though Gonzalez appears to be locked in as an everyday player at this point, he'll give up his spot in the lineup Sunday to David Hamilton, who will cover the keystone and bat seventh.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Angels' Oswald Peraza: Staking claim to everyday role
Peraza will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Though he'll be covering shortstop Sunday while Zach Neto gets a rare day of rest, Peraza appears to have emerged as the Angels' everyday first baseman in the continued absence of Nolan Schanuel (wrist). Peraza occupied first base in six of the Angels' previous seven contests, going 7-for-25 (.280 average) with one home run, one double, two walks, three stolen bases, three RBI and two runs during that stretch.
