Abreu left Tuesday's game against the Rangers with hamstring tightness, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

Abreu was hobbling after a double-play groundout and looked frustrated in the dugout. He's considered day-to-day. With just nine days left until Opening Day, there's a chance that he misses time to start the season. A more precise timeline should become apparent soon.

Smith (quad) is unlikely to return to game action this spring, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Smith strained his quad in late February and is still unable to run. He'll start in the minor leagues and try to get up to speed there. With strong performances at Triple-A, he could be back with the Mets before long, as the 35-year-old Adrian Gonzalez is unlikely to provide a major obstacle.

Dixon has had a good spring, hitting .351/.385/.703 in 39 plate appearances, and putting himself in contention for the Reds' last roster spot, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.

Dixon is not on the 40-man roster and isn't considered a prospect, so he has a few things working against him. However, sometimes that sort of profile fits a utility spot better than a prospect, when the organization wants that prospect to play every day, as the Reds did with Nick Senzel. He's competing against the likes of Alex Blandino, Cliff Pennington and Phil Gosselin for one or two spots, depending on how many relievers the Reds open the season with.

Walker was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Walker produced strong spring training numbers, slashing .302/.388/.605 with three home runs in 43 at-bats. However, there was simply no room for him in the majors with Paul Goldschmidt holding down first base and plenty of other outfielders ahead of him in the pecking order. Walker will instead spend another season toiling at Triple-A as he looks to improve the .979 OPS he produced with the Aces last season.

Cabrera was scratched from the Mets' lineup for Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals after requiring a dental procedure, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera isn't expected to require more than a day or two off while he presumably deals with some soreness in his mouth. Jose Reyes entered the lineup in place of Cabrera on Tuesday, manning second base and batting fifth.

Solano was reassigned to the minor leagues following Monday's game against the Athletics, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Solano went 9-for-32 with six RBI and three extra-base hits in 16 spring training games. Although he could find himself on the major-league squad in the near future following Justin Turner's broken wrist, he'll likely head to Triple-A Oklahoma City for now.

Joseph isn't expected to make the Rangers' Opening Day roster, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

In order to give Joseph regular at-bats, it's expected that he'll be assigned to Double-A Frisco or Triple-A Round Rock. Joey Gallo is in line to be the club's starter at first base, but Joseph could be a serviceable reserve option if needed. Over 142 games with the Phillies last season, Joseph slashed .240/.289/.432 with 22 home runs and 69 RBI.

Blandino is still in consideration for winning the Reds' final bench spot, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports. Blandino is hitting .387/.424/.484 in 33 big league plate appearances through Sunday in spring training.

Working against Blandino is that he has options remaining and Cliff Pennington and Phil Gosselin, his veteran competitors, do not. Blandino was a first-round draft pick back in 2014 but has taken a long time to develop, finally having a breakthrough of sorts at two levels last year. His upside right now appears to be as a utility infielder, and the long-term prospects don't seem great with Eugenio Suarez and Nick Senzel locked in on the left side of the infield.

Shaw was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

While Shaw is one of the team's better prospects, he was always expected to open the season in the minors given the Giants' outfield depth ahead of him. The 24-year-old will return to Triple-A Sacramento to open the season, where he hit a respectable .289/.328/.530 with 18 homers in 88 games last season. If he continues to excel with the River Cats, look for Shaw to possibly make his major-league debut something later this summer.

Olson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in Sunday's 14-0 Cactus League win over the White Sox.

Olson has a somewhat less prolific home run pace going this spring when compared to the jaw-dropping long-ball display he put on during his rookie season, but he's enjoyed a solid exhibition slate overall. The 23-year-old has slugged a pair of round trippers and has posted a solid .293 average over 47 plate appearances across 15 spring games. Set for an everyday first base job, Olson will look to put a significant dent in the 27.8 percent strikeout rate he generated in 2017, while also trying to keep his power numbers robust.
