Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 5-4 win over the Astros on Friday.

Calhoun launched a first-pitch fastball into the seats to take the lead off of Astros ace Justin Verlander in the third inning and followed that up with a double in the fifth. The 31-year-old's success against the Cy Young frontrunner wasn't expected, as the right fielder entered the contest just 5-for-43 with 23 strikeouts in his career against Verlander. Calhoun has nine hits, seven RBI and two home runs in his last 23 at-bats during what may be his best five-game stretch of the season so far. He now owns a respectable .255 batting average, with 11 home runs and 31 RBI against right-handed pitching this year. In what has been the most productive first half to a season in his career, Calhoun will look to build on his .238 batting average, 19 home runs, 51 runs and 47 RBI as the Angels battle for a playoff spot during the second half.

Wade will start in left field and bat sixth Saturday against the Rangers.

Wade was recalled from Triple-A Rochester prior to Saturday's game to take the place of the injured C.J. Cron (thumb), who landed on the injured list. He'll immediately enter the starting lineup, but is unlikely to see an everyday role given the presence of Luis Arraez and Marwin Gonzalez.

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in an extra-innings loss to the Yankees on Friday.

Lowe answered a first-inning Aaron Judge solo blast with one of his own in the fourth, marking his first time leaving the yard in the majors. The rookie just returned to the Rays on Thursday in the wake of injuries to Brandon Lowe (lower leg) and Ji-Man Choi (ankle), and Friday marked his first start after entering Thursday's contest as a pinch hitter.

Wade was recalled by the Twins on Saturday.

Wade will replaced C.J. Cron (thumb) on the 25-man roster. He was briefly called up to the big-league club in late June but had only two plate appearances prior to being sent back down to Triple-A Rochester. On the season, Wade is hitting .246/.392/.356 with seven stolen bases at Rochester.

Cron (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

The Twins announced that Cron is dealing with right thumb inflammation. He had been in a deep slump at the dish since his last home run June 22, hitting just .156/.191/.200 across 47 plate appearances. There is no timetable on his return.

Dixon went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Friday's 9-6 loss to the Red Sox.

Dixon sat out Thursday after a rough 0-for-9 performance across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader. He responded from the quick breather by posting his first multi-hit game since June 13. Dixon is now slashing .240/.269/.459 this season but just .103/.167/.256 over his past 10 games.

Hiura went 1-for-3 with a run, two stolen bases and two walks in a 7-6 victory over the Pirates on Friday.

The 22-year-old only had one steal this season coming into Friday, so to see him swipe a pair Friday was surprising. Hiura has received quite a bit of playing time lately, though, playing in eight games since the Brewers recalled him June 28. He is batting .269 with six home runs, 10 RBI, 11 runs and three steals in 93 at-bats this season.

Bell went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in a 7-6 loss to the Brewers on Friday.

The 26-year-old is experiencing an incredible week of power. Since Monday, he has five home runs and 14 RBI. That's brought his totals up to an astonishing 27 homers and 84 RBI. He's also slashing .308/.380/.662 with 60 extra-base hits and 68 runs in 331 at-bats.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 9-4 win over the Giants.

The first baseman's homer came off Giants starter Drew Pomeranz in the first inning, extending the Cardinals' lead to 3-0 at the time. Goldschmidt is heating up at the dish, having hit .333 (6-for-18) with three extra-base hits and four walks in his last five games. For the season, the 31-year-old is hitting .251/.342/.418 with 33 RBI and 48 runs scored.

Walker went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 8-0 rout of the Rockies.

Walker got the scoring started with a two-out, two-run home run off starter Antonio Senzatela in the fourth inning, then crushed a three-run, 431-foot shot off reliever Jesus Tinoco in the fifth. It was the first career multi-homer game for Walker and his third homer in the last two games. His five RBI also marked a career high. The 28-year-old is now batting .263/.332/.505 with 17 homers, 45 runs scored and 43 RBI.
