Votto was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Nationals due to left knee soreness, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Votto was penciled in to start at first base, per usual, before being scratched due to the knee injury. The severity of the injury remains unclear, and the 38-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status. Tyler Stephenson will enter the starting nine in his absence.

Cronenworth will sit Saturday against Atlanta.

Cronenworth started six straight games after returning from a finger injury but grabbed just four hits. Fernando Tatis remains the primary shortstop, but Cronenworth should still slot in somewhere on the infield in most games while someone else gets a rest.

Gurriel will sit Saturday against Oakland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports

Gurriel went hitless in both of his last two games, though that followed a 10-game stretch in which he hit .413 with eight multi-hit games. Marwin Gonzalez takes over at first base Saturday.

France went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over the Angels.

France hit a solo shot in the first inning off Jose Suarez to put the Mariners on the board. In addition, he drove in a run in the third and seventh innings. He has just two long balls in his last 28 games, both coming in the past three days. The 26-year-old is slashing .293/.366/.449 with 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 78 runs scored in 614 plate appearances this season.

Olson went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI in Friday's 14-2 win over the Astros.

Olson doubled off Seth Martinez in the eighth inning, knocking in three runs. It was his fourth game this season with four RBI and he is batting .302 with six homers in his last 14 games. The 27-year-old is slashing .274/.371/.549 with 38 long balls, 109 RBI and 99 runs scored in 638 plate appearances this season.

Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-2 loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Calhoun got Arizona on the board in the second inning with a solo shot to right off Los Angeles starter Tony Gonsolin. The outfielder now has hits in four consecutive games, all of them of the extra-base variety, and has showed well following a month-long absence.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.

The first baseman opened the scoring with a first-inning blast, his 16th homer of the year and his second through 21 September games. Lowe has maintained a decent .262/.356/.408 slash line through 609 plate appearances this year. He's added 70 RBI, 68 runs scored, seven stolen bases and 23 doubles in a near-everyday role in his first season with the Rangers.

Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a home run, a double, four RBI and three runs scored as the Cardinals swept Friday's doubleheader versus the Cubs.

Goldschmidt has recorded multiple hits in each of his last four games, going 11-for-18 with four homers and two doubles in that span. The first baseman's massive surge has lifted his slash line to .296/.364/.515 with 30 long balls, 97 RBI, 99 runs scored and 12 stolen bases through 653 plate appearances. He's locked in at the plate at the perfect time for his fantasy managers.

Tellez (kneecap) could be activated from the injured list during next week's six-game road trip, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Manager Craig Counsell confirmed Friday that Tellez won't return over the weekend against the Mets, but he noted that "everything is going in the right direction" for the first baseman. The Brewers haven't provided an exact target date for Tellez to be activated, but Friday's update would suggest he could return as soon as Tuesday in St. Louis.

Diaz, who was out of the lineup Friday against the Marlins, is hitting .333 with two doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI across 36 plate appearances with runners on base in the last 13 games.

The sizzling-hot stretch for Diaz was key in helping the Rays push for their third straight postseason berth, which they clinched with a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The 30-year-old went 2-for-3 with two RBI from a sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single in that contest. Diaz has pushed his career-high RBI tally to 60 with his September surge, a stretch during which he's driven in multiple runs on five occasions.
