Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Mets' Asdrubal Cabrera: Expects to return soon
Cabrera (back) will be held out of Saturday's lineup but said his injury isn't serious, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
The MRI Cabrera received Friday apparently didn't reveal any major structural damage. The Mets have a day off Monday before beginning a series in Chicago on Tuesday, and it would be a moderate surprise if Cabrera wasn't ready to go by following the off day.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Increasing level of activity
Goldschmidt (elbow) participated in baseball activities prior to Friday's game against the Padres.
Manager Torey Lovullo said that the club wanted to give Goldschmidt an extra day to approach his full level of activity, which is why he was withheld from the lineup again Friday. The plan is for Goldschmidt to be evaluated Saturday, so information regarding his availability should be available heading into Arizona's outing versus San Diego. If Goldschmidt has to miss another game, look for Daniel Descalso to fill in at first base.

Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Remains out Friday
Goldschmidt (elbow) isn't in the lineup Friday against the Padres.
Goldschmidt recently expressed optimism regarding his status and said he thought he'd be ready to return for Friday's game. Although he's eager to play, the Diamondbacks are being careful with the star first baseman, as Goldschmidt is being withheld from the lineup for the fifth consecutive game. Daniel Descalso will start at first base and hit fifth in place of Goldschmidt on Friday night.

Phillies' Tommy Joseph: Out of Friday's lineup
Joseph is out of the lineup Friday against the Nationals, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Rhys Hoskins will start at first base and hit third with Joseph sitting out Friday night. Joseph, who's hit two home runs over the last seven games, will likely return to action Saturday when the Phillies take on Edwin Jackson and the Nationals.

Mets' Asdrubal Cabrera: Out of Friday's lineup
Cabrera (back) isn't in the lineup Friday against the Reds.
Cabrera had an MRI on Friday, but the results of the examination have yet to be revealed. Until further notice, consider Cabrera day-to-day. Matt Reynolds will start at the hot corner while Cabrera is withheld from the lineup Friday.

Justin Bour 1B | SF
Marlins' Justin Bour: Comes off disabled list
Bour (oblique) was activated from the DL on Friday.
Bour has been out since July 24, but is ready to return to action following his lengthy absence. Prior to getting hurt, Bour had been in the midst of a great season. Over 87 games he's hitting .289/.366/.548 with 21 home runs and 63 RBI. Now that he's back in full health, he should return to his regular spot at first base in the Marlins' lineup.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Reaches base four times Thursday
Rizzo went 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Pirates.
Rizzo was locked in at the plate in this one as he snapped an 0-for-11 slump that stretched back the past three games. With a .280/.396/.532 slash line to go along with 31 home runs and 102 RBI, Rizzo is once again producing at an elite level this season.

Tommy Joseph 1B | TEX
Phillies' Tommy Joseph: Hits solo shot in loss to Nats
Joseph went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Thursday's loss to Washington.
Joseph's power has dipped considerably during his sophomore campaign, but otherwise he's pretty much been as advertised with 21 homers, 66 RBI, 48 runs and a .239/.289/.433 slash line. There's still the upside for a 30-bomb season in the future, and it's encouraging to see him find a groove down the stretch with five homers through his past 14 games.

Mets' Asdrubal Cabrera: Leaves game with hamstring issue
Cabrera left Thursday's game with right hamstring tightness, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
Cabrera went 2-for-4 before being lifted in the eighth inning. There has been nothing yet to suggest Cabrera is worse off than day-to-day. Gavin Cecchini entered the game at second base following Cabrera's exit, with Matt Reynolds shifting to third.
