  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Three-hit effort in win

Freeman went 3-fo-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Padres.

Freeman had been in a bit of a rut prior to Monday, going just 1-for-16 with two walks and six strikeouts over his last five games. He broke out of the slump with his third multi-hit effort of June. The first baseman has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors since late April, so a brief slump is nothing to be worried about. He's posted a .351/.418/.591 slash line with nine home runs, 41 RBI, 36 runs scored, 21 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases through 56 games.

  • Spencer Steer 1B | CIN

Reds' Spencer Steer: Not in lineup Monday

Steer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

With Steer getting the night off against Cleveland right-hander Luis L. Ortiz, Christian Encarnacion-Strand will man first base and bat cleanup. Santiago Espinal is at third base and batting seventh. Steer is slashing .226/.294/.327 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored and three stolen bases across 238 plate appearances this season.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Nationals' Nathaniel Lowe: Three hits in Sunday's loss

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Rangers.

The first baseman produced his first three-hit performance since May 3, accounting for half of the Nationals' knocks on the day. Lowe's homer drought stands at 19 games, but his bat may be coming around -- over the last 10 contests, he's batting .289 (11-for-38) with two doubles and six RBI.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Plates three in loss

Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run double and an RBI fielder's choice during Sunday's 4-3 loss to San Francisco.

Olson notched his second three-RBI game of the campaign Sunday and has logged a hit in nine of his last 11 appearances. The first baseman is 10-for-40 (.250) with eight RBI, seven runs scored and a 7:9 BB:K during that span. On the year, Olson is slashing .236/.342/.460 with 13 long balls.

  • Reds' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Stays hot in win

Encarnacion-Strand went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Encarnacion-Strand got the Reds on the board with a 403-foot blast in the fourth inning. He enjoyed an ideal return to action over the weekend, homering in all three games while collecting seven hits and six RBI. The 25-year-old is now slashing .229/.257/.486 with five home runs, 11 RBI and seven runs scored across 74 plate appearances this season, and he earned his second start at third base Sunday.

  • Nationals' Andres Chaparro: Heading to big leagues

Chaparro is expected to be called up from Triple-A Rochester, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Chaparro is set to join the Nationals in New York ahead of their three-game series against the Mets beginning Tuesday. The 26-year-old missed the first two months of the year with an oblique strain, but he posted a .304 average with five home runs, 19 RBI and eight runs scored over 15 games with Rochester following his return to action May 28. Chaparro will now replace Nasim Nunez on the major-league roster after Nunez was sent down to Triple-A on Sunday.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Monster effort in win

Alonso went 3-for-6 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 13-5 win over the Rockies.

Alonso launched two-run home runs in the third and eighth innings, marking his second multi-homer game of the week. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, he passed David Wright for second on the Mets' all-time home run list and set the team record for multi-homer efforts with 23. Over his past 15 games, the 30-year-old has hit safely 14 times with five multi-hit performances and 12 extra-base hits. He leads the majors with 61 RBI this season while slashing .301/.396/.594 with 17 long balls and 41 runs scored across 293 plate appearances.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

Rockies' Keston Hiura: Splitting time at first base

Hiura is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

It's the second straight game on the bench for Hiura, who has gone 2-for-11 with a double and two runs in five games since being added to the big-league roster last weekend. Kyle Farmer is starting at first base Sunday, with he and Hiura each receiving four starts at the position in Colorado's past eight games.

  • Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Idle against lefty

Horwitz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Horwitz will take a seat for the third time in four games while the Pirates go up against another southpaw in Cristopher Sanchez. Jared Triolo will get the nod at first base and should continue to fill the short side of a platoon with Horwitz.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Padres' Luis Arraez: Comes through with clutch hit

Arraez went 1-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

San Diego trailed by two runs with two outs in the ninth inning before Arraez tied the score with a two-run double. The big hit wasn't quite enough to send San Diego home with a victory, however, as Caleb Durbin swatted a walk-off homer for the Brewers in the bottom of the frame. Arraez has reached base safely in each of his first six games in June, though he's batting just .250 (7-for-28) during that span. Arraez's batting average sits at a fine .281 on the campaign, but that's well below his career mark as his three-year streak of winning a batting title looks to be in peril.
