  • Nationals' Asdrubal Cabrera: Back in lineup

Cabrera (back) returns to the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, batting sixth and playing first base.

Cabrera sat out Monday's game with a sore back but is ready to go just one day later. The veteran has failed to impress at the plate this season, hitting just .223/.293/.396.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Goes yard again

Hoskins went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Monday against the Mets.

Hoskins made his only hit of the day count, slugging his ninth home run of the season in the second inning. He's been on an incredible power surge of late, launching eight of his homers in his past 13 contests. Overall, he's hitting .254/.405/.540 with 30 runs scored and 22 RBI across 158 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Drives in two more

Freeman went 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI on Monday against the Marlins.

Freeman stayed hot at the plate, delivering a two-RBI double in the opening frame. After slugging a pair of grand slams in the team's weekend series against the Nationals, Freeman now has 10 RBI across his past four starts. He's been stellar overall this season, hitting .317/.446/.570 with seven home runs, 33 runs scored and 32 RBI across 175 plate appearances.

  • Nationals' Asdrubal Cabrera: Dealing with back stiffness

Cabrera isn't in Monday's lineup against the Rays due to back stiffness, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Cabrera could be available off the bench if needed, but manager Dave Martinez will give him a day off due to his back issue. The 34-year-old had been a staple in the lineup recently while hitting .223 with five home runs and 20 RBI this season.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Doubles streak reaches three

Flores went 1-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Flores has doubled in each of the first three games of the series with Arizona, extending his hit streak to a season-best eight games in the process. He'll look to continue his hot run at the plate Monday, when he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth in the series finale, per Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Seeing more DH work

Alonso will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and will bat sixth Monday against the Phillies.

Alonso has now made six of his last 10 starts as a designated hitter, as the Mets have instead preferred to deploy Dominic Smith at first base of late while using Jeff McNeil in left field and Robinson Cano at the keystone. The recent shuffling of defensive roles shouldn't affect Alonso's fantasy outlook heading into 2021, as he'll still retain first-base eligibility after having already made 30 starts at the position this season.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Back in action

Cooper (quadriceps) will serve as the Marlins' designated hitter and will bat fifth Monday against the Braves, Andre Fernandez of Sirius XM Radio reports.

Cooper hadn't started in either of the Marlins' last two games while battling the quad issue, though he was cleared to make a pinch-hit appearance in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rays. After being reassessed early Monday, Cooper gained clearance to re-enter the lineup in the series opener in Atlanta, pushing rookie Lewin Diaz back to a bench role as a result. Since coming off the COVID-19 injured list in late August, Cooper has gone 8-for-30 (.267 average) with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and three runs in eight contests.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Strikeouts piling up

Bohm went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Sunday's 14-1 loss to the Mets.

Two-time Cy Young award winner Jacob deGrom made a number of the Philadelphia hitters look foolish Sunday, but none struggled more than the rookie Bohm, who swung and missed at eight pitches from the Mets ace on the day. Bohm, who has gone 1-for-12 with nine strikeouts in the first three games of the series, will look to right the ship in Monday's finale. He'll start at third base and will bat eighth against Mets rookie lefty David Peterson.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Collects three hits

Solano went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, a double, and a walk in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Solano needed only a triple to complete the cycle but still enjoyed a perfect day at the dish Sunday. His two-run shot in the sixth inning proved to be the go-ahead knock in the Giants win. The 34-year-old owns a terrific .344/.388/.516 slash line with 27 RBI and 16 extra-base hits across 139 plate appearances this season.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Slugs ninth homer

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Rizzo took Cardinals starter Dakota Hudson deep in the first inning, almost straight to center field. The long ball was Rizzo's ninth of the year and first since he slugged a pair Aug. 29 versus the Reds. The first baseman has added 18 RBI, 22 runs scored and a stolen base through 40 games.
