Solano is 3-for-20 with seven strikeouts over his past six games and will take a seat Wednesday. Wilmer Flores will cover the keystone while Jason Vosler starts at third base.

Bell went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk during Tuesday's 6-4 win at Philadelphia.

The first baseman started the scoring with a three-run shot during the opening frame, and teammate Juan Soto added a three-run blast during the second inning to double the tally. Bell endured a horrible start to the season but is hitting .278/.335/.515 in 70 games since the start of May, bringing his season line to .248/.309/.469. On the season he has 16 home runs, 14 doubles, 51 RBI and 46 runs.

Calhoun batted leadoff and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Rangers.

Calhoun has slumped since coming off the injured list July 10, going 4-for-37; however, manager Torey Lovullo opted to slot the veteran into the leadoff spot in order to get him as many at-bats as possible. That serves the dual purpose of getting him more at-bats with which to dial in his swing, which, if it leads to improvement, would make Calhoun more attractive leading up to the non-waiver trade deadline.

Cron was pulled after his second at-bat during Tuesday's win over the Angels after feeling discomfort in his groin, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

By the time Cron was removed, Colorado was already up 6-0, which may have played a part in the decision to pull him from the contest. There is no word yet about the severity of the slugger's injury or his potential to miss games. Prior to exiting Tuesday, Cron went 0-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI in Tuesday's 7-4 victory against the Athletics.

Cronenworth singled in the third and brought home two with his bases-loaded hit in the fifth before scoring on Manny Machado's home run. The two hits raise the infielder out of a 2-for-22 slump with no RBI over his previous six games. Cronenworth sits at a respectable .277/.351/.464 slash line for the season.

Wade went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts before being replaced on a double switch during the ninth inning. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's matchup with Los Angeles.

There's hot, and then there's what Votto is right now. Over his last four games, the first baseman has racked up five home runs and nine RBI. The 37-year-old is hitting .350 since the All-Star break and has lifted his slugging percentage to .523 -- the highest it's been since 2017, when he finished second in the NL MVP voting.

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.

Rizzo went deep against Cincinnati starter Vladimir Gutierrez in the first inning, giving the veteran first baseman 15 home runs and 40 RBI this season. Those figures are a bit behind his usual expectations, as is his .795 OPS, but Rizzo is showing signs of life lately, having hit home runs in three straight games. If the Cubs do decide to move the 31-year-old before Friday's trade deadline, he's at least giving his value a late boost.
