  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Up to 29 homers

Olson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 loss to Pittsburgh.

Atlanta may have waited too long to heat up in the win column as it relates to their playoff aspirations, but Olson has certainly been on fire at the dish for fantasy managers. Over his last 234 plate appearances since the beginning of August, the All-Star first baseman is slashing .296/.372/.544 with 27 extra-base hits and 26 RBI. Olson has 94 RBI on the campaign and will likely fall short of his fourth career 100-RBI year, barring a torrid finish in 2025, but his 29 round trippers give him a chance to record his fifth career 30-homer season.

  • Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Reaches five times with two homers

Horwitz went 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, two walks and an additional run scored in Friday's 9-3 win over Atlanta.

It was the second multi-homer game of the year for Horwitz, who piled up at least three RBI for the fifth time this season. The first baseman is heading out on a high note in 2025, slashing a robust .338/.451/.632 with four big flies, eight doubles and 13 RBI across his last 82 trips to the plate (24 games). Horwitz also has career highs in RBI (51), runs scored (54), doubles (26) and walks (43) this year.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Sitting again Friday

Bernabel isn't in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Giants.

Bernabel started Wednesday during his first game back from the injured list, but he'll now head to the bench for a second consecutive day while Blaine Crim starts at first base.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Idle Friday

Freeman is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.

Freeman, Mookie Betts, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy will all rest Friday after the Dodgers clinched the NL West with an 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Dalton Rushing will draw the start at first base and bat seventh.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | CHC

Cubs' Carlos Santana: Optioned to complex league

The Cubs optioned Santana to the Arizona Complex League on Friday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Santana had to agree to the option, and he will be part of the Cubs' taxi squad during next week's National League Wild Card Series against the Padres. The veteran first baseman has gone 2-for-19 at the plate since signing with Chicago at the end of August.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Belts two homers vs. Arizona

Freeman went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI during the Dodgers' 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Freeman got Thursday's scoring started with a solo homer in the second before giving the Dodgers an 8-0 lead in the fourth with a two-run shot to right-center field. It was his second multi-homer game of the season, and he is now up to 23 long shots on the year, which surpasses his mark in 2024 by one. Freeman is slashing .293/.364/.496 with six steals, 80 runs, 23 homers and 88 RBI in 621 plate appearances this season.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Idle Thursday

Bernabel isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Seattle.

Bernabel will receive a day off after going 0-for-3 during his return from the injured list Wednesday. Blaine Crim will start at first base and bat third.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Returning to action Thursday

Harper (illness) will start at first base and bat third Thursday against Miami, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper missed the Phillies' last two games while fighting off an illness, but he seems to be feeling better heading into Thursday's series finale. The 32-year-old slugger will aim to finish the year strong after posting an .839 OPS across 85 plate appearances since the beginning of September.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Multi-hit effort in win

Eldridge went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Cardinals.

Eldridge hit a two-bagger in the third inning and added a single in the seventh. With that, the 20-year-old delivered his first multi-hit performance in the big leagues. Over eight appearances with the Giants, he's slashing .125/.300/.208 with three RBI, two doubles and a run scored across 30 plate appearances. He has started five consecutive games and should continue to see a significant workload with three matchups remaining, as the Giants have been eliminated from playoff contention.

  • Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Plays hero in three-hit game

Horwitz went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Reds.

The 27-year-old first baseman dealt a potentially fatal blow to Cincinnati's playoff hopes when he launched his second two-bagger of the night into the right-field corner to lead off the 11th inning, bringing Bryan Reynolds home as the phantom runner. Horwitz is finishing up his 2025 campaign in style, slashing .300/.397/.540 over his last 16 games with six doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI.
