  • Jared Young 1B | NYM

Cubs' Jared Young: Optioned to Triple-A

Young was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

After getting called up earlier this month, Young will return to the minors as Willson Contreras (ankle) and Seiya Suzuki (paternity) return to the active roster. Young went 5-for-19 at the plate and put up a respectable .732 OPS during his short time in Chicago.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Still out Tuesday

Solano (eye) is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates.

Solano has not played since Sept. 23. Jake Fraley will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Clubs 29th homer

Olson went 1-for-2 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Monday's 8-0 win over the Nationals.

His two-run blast off Cory Abbott in the fourth inning opened the scoring and gave Bryce Elder all the run support he would need. Olson snapped a 17-game homer drought with the performance, and his bat is showing some flickers of life with the playoffs on the horizon -- he's gone 6-for-25 (.240) over his last seven starts with two doubles in addition to Monday's long ball, Olson's 29th of the season.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Remains sidelined Monday

Solano (eye) isn't in Monday's lineup versus the Pirates.

The 34-year-old will miss his fourth consecutive game with an eye infection. Kyle Farmer is the designated hitter in place of Solano, who should be considered day-to-day until further updates are available.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Powers Sunday's victory

Alonso went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs and five RBI during Sunday's 13-4 victory over Oakland.

Alonso singled and scored in the first inning, connected on a two-run homer in the fourth, singled in the sixth and knocked a bases-loaded double in the eighth for his second four-hit game of the campaign. The 27-year-old has been on a power binge of late with four long balls in his last six games and eight in September. The five-RBI performance pulls Alonso into a tie with Aaron Judge for the MLB lead with 128.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Three RBI in win

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 13-6 win over Colorado.

Cronenworth hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning to put the Padres up 2-0 and later hit a two-run triple to put the Padres up 5-1. For the second game in a row, Cronenworth knocked in three runs, increasing his season-long total to 83. In 21 games this month, the 28-year-old is batting .215 with three homers, 16 RBI, 11 runs and one stolen base.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Not starting Sunday

Flores is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Arizona.

Flores started the past two games and will take a seat after he went 0-for-7 with two walks and a run scored. David Villar will serve as the designated hitter while Jason Vosler starts at the hot corner.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Returning to action Sunday

Freeman (illness) is starting at first base and batting third Sunday against the Cardinals, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Freeman was scratched from the lineup Saturday due to an illness, but his absence will be limited to one game. The Dodgers still carry a 5.5-game lead for the best record in baseball, so the veteran first baseman, who rarely steps out of the starting nine, could receive a couple days off over the final 10 days of the regular season.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Padres' Josh Bell: Not in Sunday's lineup

Bell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bell has a .091/.259/.091 slash line over his past eight contests and will take a seat Sunday for the second time in San Diego's last three games. Brandon Drury will serve as the designated hitter while Wil Myers receives another start at first base.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Takes seat versus lefty

Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and three total runs during Friday's contest, but he'll head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Nick Lodolo on the mound for Cincinnati. Keston Hiura will step in at first base and bat seventh.
