Sheets is in the lineup Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Arizona has southpaw Kohl Drake taking the mound Thursday, which usually means the left-handed hitting Sheets would take a seat. It's the 30-year-old's second start versus a lefty since July 2. He has a .376 OPS in 17 games since the All-Star break.

It will be the third straight day out of the lineup for Bauers, who is dealing with abdominal soreness. He remains day-to-day for the time being, and it's unclear whether Bauers will be available off the bench Thursday. Andrew Vaughn will be at first base and Luis Lara will play right field for the Brewers on Thursday.

Horwitz is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Horwitz has gone 1-for-12 with a double and three RBI in his three games since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll be on the bench for Wednesday's contest while Rafael Flores starts at first base and bats eighth.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters following Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs that X-rays on Freddie Freeman's hand came back negative, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Freeman was removed from the fifth inning of Wednesday's contest after being hit on the hand, but the good news is that he appears to have avoided a serious injury. With Thursday being a scheduled off day for the Dodgers, Freeman is expected to be in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.

Bauers (abdomen) is not in the Brewers' starting lineup against the Pirates on Wednesday, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.

Bauers is recovering from abdominal soreness, which will keep him out of the lineup for a second consecutive game. He did some on-field work Wednesday and is considered day-to-day, so he could be back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale against Pittsburgh.

Freeman was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs following the top of the fifth inning due to an apparent wrist injury, Adrian Medina of Roundtable.io reports. He went 1-for-3 at the plate before departing.

The Dodgers will likely provide an explanation for Freeman's early exit after the game, but the veteran first baseman appeared to grimace and look at his wrist following a check swing in the top of the fifth. Freeman flied out to center field to finish out the at-bat and was then replaced in the field by Enrique Hernandez in the bottom half of the frame.

Murphy noted that Bauers suffered the injury while diving into home during Monday's contest. The team doesn't believe the issue is serious enough to warrant imaging, but he may still miss a second straight game Wednesday as a precaution. As long as Bauers is out, Andrew Vaughn will get opportunities to start at first base, and Luis Lara will continue to see consistent time in the outfield.

Chaparro (head) will start at first base and bat second Tuesday against the Phillies.

Chaparro took a pitch off his head Sunday before missing out on the starting nine Monday, though he was able to enter Monday's contest as a pinch hitter. Now having recovered from the incident, the 27-year-old will return to the starting nine and aim to remain productive after slashing .310/.412/.897 with five homers, 14 RBI and nine runs in 13 games since the All-Star break.
