Twins bring up slugger Chris Colabello
The Twins announced Wednesday they purchased the contract of outfielder/first baseman Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester. Colabello played at first base, left field, right field and DH for Rochester.
His slash line through 46 games is .358/.417/.659/1.076. He also had 12 home runs, 17 doubles and 39 RBI. Colabello played seven years of independent baseball before joining the Twins' organization in 2012.
"He's been hitting it, absolutely hitting it out there," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We'll see what he's got (Wednesday against the Braves). A left-hander on the mound (Atlanta's Paul Maholm), a good time for a right-hander to be out there. That's what we brought him up here for, to be a right-handed bat. Go get 'em."

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
C.J. Cron not worried about lack of HRs
Angels first base prospect C.J. Cron fell a triple shy of the cycle Saturday for Double-A Arkansas. Cron, who belted a career-high 27 home runs in 2012, homered for just the second time, but he's batting .350 (14 for 40) in his last 10 games.
"They usually come for me, so homers are never really anything I worry about," Cron said, per MLB.com. "I'm just sticking with the same approach that's worked with everything else. Obviously, I'd like to have more than just two, but they'll come."
Cron, who is considered the Angels' third-best prospect by MLB.com, is batting .315 with a .460 slugging percentage in 32 games. He has one triple, four stolen bases, 10 doubles, 11 runs and 18 RBI.

Astros outfielder Chris Carter mashed his seventh home run in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Asdrubal Cabrera striking out more often
Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera has struggled to open the year, and is striking out more often.
Cabrera is striking out at a career-high 22.6 percent rate this year. He's also seen his swinging strike rate rise from 7.3 percent to 8.2 percent. Cabrera is hitting just .233/.307/.437 to begin the season. Cabrera is showing slightly increased power, so it could be that he's utilized a slighty different approach early in the year.
Cabrera's average has never been a problem for Fantasy owners in the past, so there's a chance he bounces back from his early struggles.
