Aranda went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Friday against the Marlins.

Aranda has been hitting well over the last two weeks, with Friday's effort marking his sixth multi-hit performance in 12 games. He has only four extra-base hits in that span, but he has still managed 12 runs scored with 10 RBI. For the season, Aranda has maintained an excellent .324 batting average yet he still rarely starts against left-handed pitchers.

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Cubs.

Torkelson singled in the second inning and later launched what proved to be the game-winning solo homer in the sixth. It was a much-needed boost for the first baseman, who came into the weekend mired in a 1-for-18 slump over his previous five games. On the season, he's slashing .232/.341/.500 with 15 home runs, 43 RBI, 37 runs scored and one stolen base across 261 plate appearances.

Mountcastle was diagnosed with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain Friday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Mountcastle's hamstring sent him to the 10-day injured list Saturday, but now that the severity of his injury has been revealed, he's expected to miss between 8-12 weeks. Even in a best-case scenario, the 28-year-old's absence will extend into August, but he still has a decent chance to make it back before the end of the regular season. Coby Mayo and Ryan O'Hearn have been splitting first-base duties since Mountcastle landed on the IL, and the pair will presumably continue to share starts going forward.

Kurtz (hip) will embark on a rehab assignment Saturday with Single-A Stockton, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Kurtz was placed on the 10-day injured list May 25 due to a strained left hip flexor. He's expected to be activated off the IL ahead of Monday's game against the Angels, but he'll test his hip in Single-A before returning to the majors. Kurtz went 7-for-17 with four home runs and nine RBI in the five games prior to his injury.

Elko went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Tigers.

Elko has started at first base and hit sixth in two straight games since being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. He has one hit in each contest and provided the game-winning knock in the 10th inning Thursday, though that was also paired with three strikeouts. However, Elko's playing time figured to be impacted by the impending promotion of top prospect Kyle Teel.

Burger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

Burger has gone 7-for-23 (.304) with three RBI over his last six games. The homer was his first since May 25 versus the White Sox. The infielder is up to eight homers, 24 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles, one stolen base and a .220/.250/.407 slash line over 52 games this season. Burger continues to offer some power, but it has come with mediocre plate discipline and a low batting average this year.

Pasquantino went 5-for-10 with three RBI as the Royals split Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Pasquantino had a four-hit effort, including a pair of RBI singles, in a 6-5 extra-inning loss in the first game before adding an RBI with a groundout in the nightcap. The first baseman warmed up in the second half of May, batting .365 (19-for-52) over his last 14 games of the month, and he's hit safely in four straight contests to begin June. Overall, he's at a .267/.319/.403 slash line with eight home runs, 36 RBI, 23 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple across 62 games this season.

Soderstrom went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and a two-run homer in Thursday's 14-3 win over the Twins.

It's already the fourth multi-homer game of the season for Soderstrom, though his last came on April 15. The 23-year-old Soderstrom had cooled off at the plate after a blistering start to the year -- he'd gone just 5-for-40 (.125) in his previous 12 games coming into Thursday. Soderstrom is now slashing .257/.333/.485 through 270 plate appearances this year with 14 homers, 42 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Goldschmidt isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Goldschmidt will get a chance to regroup Thursday after going 0-for-7 with a walk and four strikeouts during the first two games of the series. Ben Rice will cover first base and bat second while the 37-year-old veteran rests.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said Wednesday that Mountcastle (hamstring) will be sidelined "a while" after the Orioles received his MRI results, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

It's not an encouraging sign for Mountcastle, who remains without a definitive timetable for a return and appears to be out indefinitely due to a right hamstring strain. Baltimore recalled Coby Mayo from the minor leagues after Mountcastle hit the injured list, and the former looks to have a fairly clear pathway to at-bats either at first base or designated hitter for the time being. Ryan O'Hearn is also likely to be needed to handle additional reps at first base as opposed to the outfield while Mountcastle is on the shelf.
