Yankees' Luke Voit: Collects two hits in rehab game

Voit (knee) went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in his first game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

The slugger began a rehab assignment with the Yankees' top minor-league club and reached base three times. He's expected to get into 4-to-5 additional minor-league contests before potentially returning to the big club in the middle of next week.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Blasts sixth homer

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-0 rout of the Reds.

The reigning AL MVP led off the second inning by taking Jeff Hoffman deep to get the ball rolling on a big night for the White Sox offense. Abreu is displaying his usual power, slugging six homers and 22 RBI through 28 games, but his .214 batting average is a significant disappointment and more than 100 points lower than last year's effort.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Visiting specialist Wednesday

Kirillof (wrist) is scheduled to visit a hand and wrist specialist Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old suffered a right wrist injury sliding into second base Monday and was held out of Tuesday's starting nine. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but the fact that he's visiting a specialist so quickly is an ominous sign. Kirilloff is unlikely to be available Wednesday while being evaluated, and it should be known shortly whether a trip to the injured list is necessary.

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Nursing sore wrist

Kirilloff is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers due to wrist soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old was originally slated to start Tuesday, but he was scratched due to the wrist issue. Kirilloff should be considered day-to-day while he continues to be evaluated.

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Kirilloff is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rangers.

He is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, hitting .321 with four home runs over that stretch. However, his 33.3 percent strikeout rate and 3.3 percent walk rate over this hot streak are worth keeping an eye on. Willians Astudillo will start at first base and hit eighth.

  • Evan White 1B | LAA

    Mariners' Evan White: Activated Tuesday

White was reinstated from the bereavement list Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

He missed a few games to attend to a personal matter. White is hitting .108 with zero home runs and a 3:11 BB:K over his last 10 games.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: Could return next week

Voit (knee) could return in the middle of next week, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

He is embarking on a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Per manager Aaron Boone, Voit is expected to play in 5-to-6 games over the next 7-to-8 days, which would take us to Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. If all goes well, he could return to the Yankees lineup toward the end of next week's series in Tampa Bay that runs from May 11 through May 13.

Yankees' Luke Voit: Rehab moves to Triple-A

Voit (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

It was reported last week that Voit would be rehabbing with Double-A Somerset, but he'll instead head to Triple-A for the minor-league opener. He's been taking live at-bats at the alternate site, so while it's unclear exactly how long Voit's rehab assignment will be, he could rejoin the Yankees in the near future if he avoids any setbacks.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: On base four times in win

Diaz went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a walk in a win over the Angels on Monday.

Teammates Willy Adames and Manuel Margot provided the biggest blasts of the night, but Diaz was productive with some "small ball" contributions. The 29-year-old's seventh multi-hit effort of the season snapped a brief 1-for-10 funk that had encompassed his prior four games.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Rangers' Nate Lowe: Shows off wheels

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Twins.

Lowe's not known for his speed, but he's now stolen bases in back-to-back games and is up to four thefts in 2021. He had one steal in the majors prior to this season and four across four minor-league seasons.
