  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Homer, three runs in win

Abreu went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 13-3 win over the Twins.

The blast was Abreu's 13th but just his second over the last 26 games, a span during which he's batted .188 with just nine RBI. The slump leaves the first baseman with a career lows in average (.241), slugging (.440) and OPS (.768).

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Clubs third homer

Diaz went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

Diaz's first-inning long ball off Jon Lester marked his first homer since June 18 and just his third of the season. After belting 14 home runs in 2019, Diaz has gone deep just five times dating back to the beginning of the abbreviated 2020 season.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Dealing with hamstring tightness

Dalbec isn't starting Wednesday's game against Kansas City due to right hamstring tightness, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Dalbec drew two consecutive starts at first base, but he apparently suffered a hamstring injury Tuesday. Manager Alex Cora said the 26-year-old might not be available off the bench so he gets additional time to recover.

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Riding pine Wednesday

Dalbec isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Royals, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec went 4-for-7 with a homer, three runs and a strikeout across the last two games, but he'll get a breather Wednesday. Michael Chavis will shift to first base while Marwin Gonzalez starts at the keystone.

  • Evan White 1B | LAA

Mariners' Evan White: Gets cortisone shot Tuesday

White (hip) received a cortisone injection Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

The recovering first baseman took some time recently to determine the next steps in his recovery, and he apparently opted to go with the injection as a means to reduce inflammation and discomfort for the time being. The timeline for White's potential return to a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma will likely be determined before the week is out.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Indians' Josh Naylor: Slated to undergo surgery

Naylor will undergo surgery Friday to repair multiple fibula fractures and ligament tearing, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Naylor was carted off the field after a collision in Sunday's loss to the Twins, and he'll miss extended time as a result. The team won't reveal a timetable for his return until after his procedure, but the 24-year-old could miss the remainder of the season. Harold Ramirez should continue to serve as the primary right fielder in Naylor's absence.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Homers as part of three-hit day

O'Hearn went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Red Sox.

O'Hearn logged his first three-hit game of the year with a pair of singles and a two-run blast in the fifth to put the Royals back up 6-5. The 27-year-old spent nearly a month at Triple-A Omaha after showing struggles early in the year but is slashing .333/.333/.606 with 11 hits, seven RBI and four runs scored in eight games since being recalled back to the big club June 21.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Returns to action

Abreu went 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over Minnesota.

Abreu was hit by a pitch on the knee during the first game of Sunday's doubleheader and missed the nightcap. The issue was seemingly not serious, as he was ready to play Monday before that game was rained out. The slugger, however, remains in a funk, batting just .119 (5-for-42) over the last 12 games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Homers, doubles in loss

France went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double during Tuesday's loss to Toronto.

France got the Mariners on the board with a 391-foot shot against Robbie Ray in the sixth inning. He also doubled in the eighth. Although the long ball was France's second over the last three games, the 26-year-old recently endured a 2-for-19 slump at the plate after playing through a minor wrist injury, but it appears he may be on the mend. Across 70 games this season, France is batting .261/.351/.431 with eight homers.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Back in action

Abreu (knee) will bat third and play first base Tuesday against the Twins.

Abreu was hit in the knee by a pitch in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mariners and didn't play in the evening game, but the issue evidently isn't a particularly serious one. He was ready to play Monday if not for a rainout, so it's no surprise to see him back in the lineup Tuesday.
