Padlo was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Thursday.
Padlo has spent most of the season at Triple-A Durham and was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He's slashed .194/.270/.379 with 12 homers, 40 runs, 37 RBI and five stolen bases in 69 minor-league games this year and will now report to Triple-A Tacoma.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Sits again Thursday
Diaz will remain on the bench for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Diaz sits for the second game in a row and the fifth time in five games. He's hit just .176/.237/.382 thus far in the month of August. Ji-Man Choi and Joey Wendle will start at the infield corners in his absence.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Joins 20-homer club
Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay.
The first baseman tried to help Baltimore's cause with his eighth-inning blast, but it was the team's last run in the contest. Mountcastle has gone 2-for-7 with a home run and a double in two games since returning from a concussion. He's picked up right where he left off and now has a 10-game hitting streak during which he's gone 16-for-36 (.444) with four homers, four doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: On bench Wednesday
Lowe isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Lowe will get a chance to reset after he went 0-for-8 with two strikeouts across the last two games. Charlie Culberson will start at first base and bat sixth.
-
Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Not starting Wednesday
Vaughn isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
Vaughn went 3-for-12 with a homer, three RBI and two runs across the last three games, and he'll get a breather Wednesday. Eloy Jimenez will serve as the designated hitter while Jake Lamb starts in left field.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Yankees' Luke Voit: Retreats to bench
Voit isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
Voit has been hot at the plate recently, as he went 6-for-13 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs across the last four games. Although he had an everyday role recently, he'll see fewer at-bats after Anthony Rizzo (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.
-
Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Reinstated, starting Wednesday
Rizzo (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and will start in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Sweeny Murti of Sports Radio 66 WFAN reports.
The 32-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 8, but he participated in baseball activities Tuesday after he cleared the league's health and safety protocols. He'll return from the IL to bat second in Wednesday's series finale against Boston, while Luke Voit will move into a backup role now that Rizzo is back in action.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Not starting Wednesday
Diaz isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Diaz returned to the lineup Tuesday after a three-game absence due to a sprained left thumb, and he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Joey Wendle will start at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Yankees' Luke Voit: Clubs sixth homer
Voit went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during a 2-0 win over the Red Sox in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
After going 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI in the matinee, Voit took Nathan Eovaldi deep in the second inning of the nightcap, giving Luis Gil and the Yankees' bullpen all the run support they would need. The first baseman has homered twice as part of a modest four-game hitting streak, and now that he's healthy Voit could be gearing up for a big finish to the campaign. He could use it -- he's slashing a disappointing .241/.325/.400 through 39 contests this season with only six homers and 20 RBI. Figuring out playing time for everyone could also be an issue once Anthony Rizzo returns from the COVID list.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: On base four times in loss
Guerrero went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-6 loss to the Nationals.
The 22-year-old may be coming out of his August funk, hitting safely in five straight games and scoring a run in four straight. Despite a .712 OPS on the month to date, Guerrero still sports an exceptional .316/.413/.612 slash line on the season with 35 homers, 88 RBI and 91 runs through 117 contests.
