Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Sits versus lefty
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.
The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will remain on the bench for the second straight game with Kansas City facing a southpaw (Logan Allen) on Wednesday. O'Hearn's opportunities against right-handed pitching could soon take a hit, as Kansas City welcomes back Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) from the injured list Wednesday. Mondesi is expected to see most of his initial starts at designated hitter while he returns from an extended absence, leaving O'Hearn, Hunter Dozier and Edward Olivares to compete for reps in right field.

Mariners' Ty France: Piling up HBPs
France went 1-for-2 with with a walk and a run Tuesday in the Mariners' 4-0 win over the Astros.
He also reached base when he was hit by a pitch for the 20th time this season, trailing only the Athletics' Mark Canha (22) for the MLB lead. The high number of beanings has helped prop France's on-base average up to a robust .362, in spite of a substandard 6.6 percent walk rate. The 27-year-old will remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale with Houston, manning first base while batting fourth.

Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Recalled by Seattle
Padlo was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Padlo was claimed off waivers by Seattle on Aug. 19, and he went 6-for-23 with a homer, four runs and three RBI across seven games at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll provide depth for the major-league club as part of Wednesday's roster expansion.

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Blasts 18th home run
Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Angels.
Rizzo went deep off Jaime Barria in the fourth inning, putting the Yankees up 1-0. In addition, he doubled and scored in the eighth. That was only his second home run in August, as he hit just .209 in the month. The 31-year-old is slashing .248/.345/.448 with 18 long balls, 52 RBI, 57 runs and six steals in 461 plate appearances this season.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Slugs 39th homer
Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.
He took Jorge Lopez deep in the sixth inning to bring the Jays within a run, but the team's offense went cold the rest of the way. Guerrero has hit safely in nine straight games, slashing .361/.410/.639 over that stretch, and he's homered three times in the last two days to leave him one blast shy of 40 for the season.

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Goes deep in victory
Abreu went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's victory over the Pirates.
The 34-year-old blasted his 28th homer of the season in the third inning off Bryse Wilson. The first baseman has now collected a hit in seven straight games, notching 13 hits in 28 at-bats with three home runs and three doubles over that stretch. On the season, Abreu is at 102 RBI, marking the sixth time he has eclipsed 100 RBI in eight seasons. He'll have an outside shot at topping his career high of 123 RBI with 29 games remaining this year.

Yankees' Luke Voit: Sitting again Tuesday
Voit is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.
Voit finds himself on the bench for the second straight day after being in the starting nine for the previous three games. Brett Gardner will again start in the outfield while Giancarlo Stanton serves as the designated hitter.

Santana (hip) is batting cleanup and playing first base Tuesday against Cleveland.
An aggravation of his hip injury caused Santana to miss a couple contests, but he's back in action for Tuesday's series opener. Santana's hitting .262 with four doubles in his last 10 games, largely due to a four-hit effort Aug. 22 against the Cubs.
