  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Swats 22nd homer

Rizzo went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 12-2 loss to the Rays.

The first baseman took Shane Baz deep in the bottom of the first inning, but the Yankees were already in a 3-0 hole at that point. After going 16 games without a homer, Rizzo has gone yard twice in the last three games to give him 22 on the year, including eight since joining New York at the trade deadline.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Fine after injury scare

Guerrero exited Saturday's win over the Orioles after rolling his ankle but is feeling fine, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Guerrero was taken out of the game late after rolling his ankle rounding first base in the sixth inning. Manager Charlie Montoyo clarified that there was no serious injury, and that the team would have had more concern had it been a knee or hamstring issue. Prior to his exit, Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run to bring his homer total on the season to 47.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Remains on bench

Vaughn isn't starting Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Vaughn appears to have lost his starting role for the White Sox, as he'll be out of the lineup for a fourth straight game. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Retreats to bench

Dalbec isn't starting Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Dalbec blasted a solo homer in Friday's series opener against Washington, and he'll get a breather in Saturday's matchup. Kyle Schwarber will shift to first base while J.D. Martinez starts in right field at Nationals Park.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Steals base in return

Diaz (ribs) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

The infielder hadn't started since Tuesday, but he batted cleanup in Friday's win. Diaz's steal was his first of the season on his second attempt. He's slashing .258/.354/.390 with 13 home runs, 64 RBI, 61 runs scored and 20 doubles through 536 plate appearances. He should continue to hold a short-side platoon role at third base in the postseason, with Joey Wendle handling the strong side.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Crushes 39th homer

Olson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and two strikeouts in Friday's 8-6 win against Houston.

Olson tagged Houston starter Framber Valdez for 418-foot blast to right in the sixth inning but failed to produce in his other four at-bats. The long ball gives the slugging first baseman 39 on the season, which brings him to a tie with Aaron Judge for sixth in MLB.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Homers, drives in four

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a walk in Friday's 8-1 win over Detroit.

Abreu launched a solo shot in the third inning, his 30th home run of the year. He brought home three more runs throughout the contest, including an RBI double in the sixth. The slugging first baseman was just 13-for-56 (.232) since his last home run Sept. 10. Abreu improved his season OPS to .837 with 117 RBI and 62 extra-base hits.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Swats solo shot

Dalbec went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 win over Washington.

The infielder went back-to-back with Hunter Renfroe in the sixth inning, accounting for all of Boston's runs in the contest. Dalbec is just 2-for-20 (.100) across his last seven games, but both of his hits in that span have landed beyond the fence. The slump has trimmed his slash line down to .240/.299/.495 with 25 long balls, 78 RBI, 50 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 452 plate appearances this year.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Crushes 18th homer

Lowe went 3-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's 9-6 loss to Cleveland.

Lowe singled and scored in the second inning and later added a solo shot in the sixth. Over the last seven games, the lefty slugger has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with three homers and seven runs scored. Lowe is slashing .264/.358/.417 with 45 extra-base hits and 72 RBI this season.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Still stuck on bench

Vaughn will sit for the third straight game Friday against Detroit.

Vaughn may be falling out of favor as the White Sox head into the postseason. He started five straight games after returning from a back injury last week, but he recorded just two hits over that stretch. He now finds himself on the bench for the third straight game, with Leury Garcia starting in right field.
