Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Serving as designated hitter
Abreu (leg) is starting Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Abreu is dealing with leg soreness after he went 2-for-6 with a run and a strikeout in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays, but he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup Wednesday. He's slashed .324/.410/.588 with two home runs, three doubles, eight RBI and seven runs over the last eight games.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Hits eighth home run
Naylor went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk in a 6-5 win over the Twins on Tuesday.
Naylor swatted his eighth homer and picked up his 37th RBI of the season. The 24-year-old left-handed bat has been handling cleanup duties for the Guardians, right behind the prolific Jose Ramirez. He came into the game hitting .314 against right-handed pitching and should continue to carve out a space for himself in the heart of the Guardians lineup until Franmil Reyes can improve his approach at the plate and cut down his strikeout rate.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Ends homer drought
Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Phillies.
Calhoun's two-run shot was the final blow in a four-HR game for the Rangers. The home run snapped a 20-game power drought for Calhoun, a stretch during which the outfielder had a .500 OPS. It's been a season of extreme peaks and valleys for Calhoun, whose monthly OPS values are .375 in April, 1.012 in May and .437 in June.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Goes deep in win
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and was caught stealing in Tuesday's 7-0 win over Philadelphia.
Lowe delivered the game-winning hit, bashing the first of back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning off former Ranger Kyle Gibson. The blast was Lowe's ninth of the season, eight of them coming in the last 30 games. During that stretch, Lowe is slashing .325/.358/.596 with 14 extra-base hits, 19 RBI and 19 runs scored.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Royals' Carlos Santana: Drives in five
Santana went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, five RBI and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 12-11 extra-innings win over the Angels.
Santana hasn't hit a triple since 2019, so a cycle was never really on the radar. He was steady in this one, posting an RBI double in the second inning, a two-run homer in the fourth and RBI singles in the sixth and eighth. This was just his sixth multi-hit game of the year, though it was also his second four-hit effort, both of which have come in June. The veteran first baseman has a .210/.347/.333 slash line with four homers, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored and eight doubles across 196 plate appearances.

France sparked the Mariners' rally with an RBI single in the seventh inning. He's gone 7-for-20 (.350) with four RBI in his last five games. The 27-year-old is up to a .320/.395/.483 slash line with 10 home runs, 45 RBI, 32 runs scored and 14 doubles through 68 contests as he continues to provide well-rounded offense.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Dealing with leg soreness
Abreu is managing leg soreness and will be limited to serving as the designated hitter in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, though he could instead be held out of the lineup, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Abreu went 2-for-6 with a run scored and never exited Tuesday's contest, but manager Tony La Russa did consider replacing him with a pinch runner during the 12th inning. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but the veteran slugger won't play the field in Wednesday's series finale, and he could receive a full day off if the soreness remains bothersome.

Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: May be top first baseman, for now
Kirilloff will start at first base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Guardians.
Kirilloff will pick up his third consecutive start at first base after he went a combined 2-for-9 with two doubles, two RBI and a run in the final two contests of Minnesota's weekend series in Arizona. While Jorge Polanco (back) is on the injured list, Luis Arraez is expected to fill in as the Twins' primary second baseman, paving the way for Kirilloff to get a trial as the team's top first baseman. The lefty-hitting Kirilloff is likely to occupy the strong side of a platoon with the righty-hitting Jose Miranda.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Receives first MLB call-up
The Rays recalled Aranda from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
Aranda joins the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Manuel Margot (knee), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday along with fellow outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (hip). Since he had seen work at three infield spots (third base, second base and first base) this season, Aranda won't be a candidate to directly replace either Kiermaier or Margot in the Rays' regular lineup, but the versatile Vidal Brujan could begin seeing more work in the outfield to facilitate playing time for Aranda. The 24-year-old slashed .310/.386/.512 with 11 home runs and three stolen bases in 280 plate appearances for Durham prior to receiving his first big-league call-up.
