The veteran extended his recent stretch of hot hitting with Friday's production, which pushed his average over the last seven games to .320 (8-for-25). Turner has three of his five extra-base hits with the Mariners in that span, and he's also striking out at just a 10.0 percent clip within that sample of 30 plate appearances.

Naylor (back) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Friday against the Dodgers.
He exited Tuesday's game with an acute back spasm but only missed a few days. Naylor has been locked into the four hole against righties and the five hole against lefties while slashing .245/.324/.426 with four home runs and one steal over his last 25 games.

Athletics' Seth Brown: Comes up clutch twice in win
Brown went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Tigers.
Brown didn't start Friday, but he was one of four Athletics with multiple hits in the marathon game. The 32-year-old saved the day in the 11th inning with a game-tying homer, then came up big again with the walk-off hit, a single, to plate JJ Bleday in the 13th. Brown has seven multi-hit efforts over his last 10 games, going 16-for-35 (.457) with four homers and 14 RBI in that span. The surge has him up to a .251/.310/.421 slash line with 14 homers, 44 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases through 106 contests overall.

He's been swinging a hot bat over the past couple weeks, slashing .391/.442/.630 with three homers and 12 RBI in his last 13 games, but Brown remains a strict platoon player for manager Mark Kotsay. Mountcastle (wrist) hit off a tee Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Manager Brandon Hyde said Mountcastle is making a little progress but did not offer a timeline for his return. This marks the first reported time Mountcastle has swung a bat since going on the injured list Aug. 26 due to a sprained wrist. Ryan O'Hearn has been starting at first base while Eloy Jimenez mans designated hitter most days.
